I'm nt entirely sure, but so long as you have the right resolution and it supports boot animation changes, for example stock Samsung + root does not support boot animation, and requires a special program, as listed earlier in the thread. The file types on Samsung are widely different to prevent this kind of editing

will it work with android N?
It depends on what type of phone do you have and if it has a custom recovery . I didn't want to let this die because i love watch_dogs so i made i nice boot animation zip a long time ago in here but never post the link so here also its 1080 by 1920 so check your resolution

I wasn't sure if I should even respond here since this thread is probably dead, but here I am still doing it.

I saw this post years ago but forgot about it. So to shorten things up I wanted to try it out. I flashed it via TWRP, but unfortunately I also just get a black screen.

I'm on a Oppo Find 7 (basically 1+1 with 1440p) on lineage 16. Maybe it didn't work because of the 1440p or because of the too new android version.

I'd really love to have this animation on the 7, so if I can help out I would.

Can you just upload the bootanimation.zip for me please? I've already tried to flash the 1080p zip file but it didnt work. I tried to copy the same zip to the system/media and renamed it to bootanimation.zip but still didnt work.

You can try unzipping and repacking it with the required files, e.g. pictures and config.

I've got a 2560 x 1440 resolution, that's why i didn't try yours since it's 1080p.
benmeroff sent me a 1440p version of his too, but that didn't work either, so no idea..
