Hey guys! I made this DOS looking boot animation for the Galaxy Core Prime just for fun and thought I'd share it. It will work on any Samsung device, but I made it with the MetroPCS & T-Mobile versions of the Core Prime in mind, so the print that reads during the animation will probably only be relevant to you if the following is true for your device:

GALAXY CORE PRIME
ANDROID 5.1.1
TRAPKERNEL ROOT
TWRP RECOVERY

Anyhow, I made this animation into a flashable zip, so here's all you have to do:

1) Download the file below and put it on the root of your sdcard.
2) Boot into recovery.
3) DO A FULL SYSTEM BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING ANYTHING(in case you want to go back).
4) Select "Install", then select the "bogartydosanimation.zip" and install it.
That's it. Easy! Happy flashing guys. Thank you! :)

NOTE: The first reboot after flashing will take a little longer than usual. This is normal. Android just has to process your new animation the first time, but if it hangs on boot for more than a few minutes the first time, then just pop out the battery and reboot and it will be fine.

Please don't forget to hit the "Thanks" button if you've enjoyed using this animation. Thank you! :)

Sweet little animation. Are there any shutdown animations for this device ? Aside from the marshmallow from the slim pickins rom.

Hello! I haven't personally made any shutdown animations for this device, but you can use any 480x800 size "shutdown.qmg". You may have to just Google something like "shutdown.qmg xda" to see if you can find one.

You can also make your own SHUTDOWN ANIMATION really quickly by taking any boot animation(mine for instance) and just doing this:

1) Download the zip.
2) Extract the "bootsamsung.qmg" from the "/system/media" folder in the zip
(don't use "bootsamsungloop.qmg").
3) Rename the file to "shutdown.qmg".
4) Use a root browser to replace your current "shutdown.qmg" with this new one in the "/system/media/" folder of your device.
5) When setting animations manually, YOU MUST CHANGE THE PERMISSIONS of the file with a root browser to "rw-r--r--" in order for it to work!

(This is especially crucial when manually dropping in your own "bootsamsung.qmg", as your device will not boot otherwise. Changing shutdown animations is pretty low risk though.)
6) Reboot and enjoy your animation!

Thanks! :)

Sounds pretty easy. I'll tinker around a bit after I get off work and see what happens. Thanks again.
Cool! Just make sure they're Samsung animations(ie. QMG files) or it won't work. :)

You can also make your own shutdown animation by just following steps 1 through 5 of my "Boot Animation Creation" tutorial, but instead of naming the the animation "bootsamsung.qmg" in step 5, just name it "shutdown.qmg" and drop it in. :)

How do you remove the old boot animation to add a new one ? I tried the Twilight Zone animation after putting on the dos one and it plays the Twilight Zone music but still shows the Dos boot up. And it never finishes booting. Solved with a quick recovery but still have to flash recovery with no animation to switch them every time. Any advice ?

You should just have to flash the whole zip in recovery & it should overwrite both the animation and the sound(ie. you don't manually remove the old one). I switch back and forth all the time with those files, so I'm not sure what the problem might be. Haven't heard of anyone having that issue. I would just suggest trying it again maybe though. It's good to have a few different ones downloaded too, so that if one isn't working for you for whatever reason, then you can just flash a different one instead of recovering the device. I would try it again though, as it does work. Maybe try redownloading the file? :)
