Already on to another boot animation, but this one worked fine after the Entropy's Kernel. Currently using S8 10/20 Kernel.
Edit: I just noticed you said you have the bootanimation.zip in /sys/media. That is the wrong directory, and there is no native /media sub directory in /sys anyway. The correct directory for bootanimation.zip is /system/media. The /media sub-directory will already be there if you have the right kernel installed.Hi guys.. Def a noob. I jumped shipped form Iphone 3gs to SGSII. New to XDA.
I am having a problem where i can not remove the at&t bootanimation and replace it with the the Nexus Prim bootanimaiton. I have moved the downloaded file (bootanimation.zip) into sys/media folder. When i view the folder it show the bootanimation.zip icon, when I view the file it shows the Nexus Prime images..On another note the folder is set to r/o tried to change it to r/w and it does not allow me to hope this helps. Using root Explorer.
Is there something that i am doing wrong?
my device is rooted using the following:

Most probably, the kernel that zedomax has included in his root method is stock with ClockworkMod recovery added, but does not support bootanimations. You will need to install a kernel that supports bootanimation. Entropy512's Daily Driver kernel does support bootanimations, and Zedomax OC Kernel also supports bootanimations.
You could install a custom rom that includes Entropy's kernel, or you could just install one of these kernels on your present setup. If you need some instructions on installing just the kernel, see the guides linked in my signature.
Also, you need a root file manager, such as root explorer (paid app on market), or you need to use adb to push the bootanimation into /system/media
Sweet! I back tracked, found out that i flashed the wrong kernal... Retraced and got everything working. Bootanimation is now working..Thanks I'll give it a shot..
i was looking to install CM7 hopefully that should help,
I do have root explorer and Rom Tools as well. Much appreciated.. I'll give a shot and see how it works out.
