I just saw the botanimation on my Eizo screen, it was not very clear, I updated the file on mediafire, so If you have it installed, re-install :D

Splash1 image

I have made a splash1 image to make the quietly rooted animation "flow" better. S-OFF users only

To install:

  1. Download the zip file
  2. Extract it to a known location
  3. View the image file in the zip, that way you know what you're flashing :D
  4. Copy the splash1.img file to your AndroidSDK/tools directory (make sure fastboot is present)
  5. Reboot your phone to fastboot mode (in CM reboot to bootloader, you're there. Else power off, then power on with the back button held)
  6. Code:
    fastboot flash splash1 splash1.img
  7. Reboot and enjoy ;)

EDIT:

Why does this boot animation just disappear when the animation is complete? The text writes itself out, then the screen goes black...

EDIT 2:

A video so you see the whole boot process with this splash1 installed. Extra points if you name the piece of music in the background ;) (It's very faint) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQZaL8KqiKM

Splash1 image - snake

S-OFF users only.

This is a splash1 image for the "snake" boot animation. It's just the first frame (as before)

I hope you don't mind me doing this Dr. Romca. If you do, I'll stick 'em somewhere else ;)

To install:

  1. Download the zip file
  2. Extract it to a known location
  3. View the image file in the zip, that way you know what you're flashing :D
  4. Copy the SnakeSplash.img file to your AndroidSDK/tools directory (make sure fastboot is present)
  5. Reboot your phone to fastboot mode (in CM reboot to bootloader, you're there. Else power off, then power on with the back button held)
  6. Code:
    fastboot flash splash1 SnakeSplash.img
  7. Reboot and enjoy ;)

Thanks for the AmiBIOS + Knight Rider one, been using it since I rooted my Legend, I did not know there was a thread here too :) (google pointed me to your modaco forum post when I was looking for a bootanim)

Is there something special about the png's?
I've tried to make my own variant of your quietly rooted version
but it goes blank right where I added some png's
I added them using 7zip (I used it before to change some pngs of apks)

I continued the numbering as it should and use Adobe photoshop CS4 to edit them

Any idea what could have gone wrong?
Can I just try to make a new zip?

EDIT: solved it (the pngs should not be compressed while zipping)

Right! Good, also jpg's work too - it comes handyd if you're making a photo like animation ;-) jpegs are much smaller while compressing photos...
Would you share your bootanimation with us? :)

Yeah I will but the codes
Code:
For freesing
p 1 10 foldername
and looping
p 1 0 foldername
Don't seem to work in CM7 (although the official CM bootanimation uses it without problems ???)
I'll need to figure that out. Once it's fully tested I'll post it.

OK i finally managed to get the looping like it should
Looks like you need 2 extra maps in order to get it to loop (even if you don't use the 1 extra map)
I've attached bootanimation.zip (THIS IS NOT FOR FLASHING!!)
Rename it to bootanimation.zip before you push it.
You should push it to the right directory depending on the ROM u use (e.g. /system/media for CM)
Here are some screenshots:

Since I'm not that good in the grafical stuff I used the things I've found on the first page and combined them to something I like :D
I use one with my name written too that looks even nicer but don't think you guys would like my name on your phone :p

You can add it to the first post if you want. But please mention my name (It took me quite some time to create two versions of it (one for me and one for this forum)) but I'm glad I can do something for this forum I hope some of you will enjoy this :D (otherwise I've wasted my time xD)

EDIT: forgot to mention if it loops too fast for you, you can change the value of the fps in the desc.txt I just like speed :p

Well, I did a version with my name on it too, but you'll find out for an unknown reason people just can't appreciate it  ... :D

OK, it's a nice blend, just an advice before I post it in the first one:
Your desc.txt should look more like:
Code:
320 480 15
p 1 0 part0
p 0 0 part1
By experimentation, I have found out that the phone can't handle 24 fps while booting (I think it's too busy booting :D)
No need to have those extra folders, just put the non-looping part in the part0 and the looping to part1. Also by experimentation I have fond out that when loop is short, it is better to make two or three loops, the phone flashes a white frame once in a loop otherwise. (just copy the png's and rename them by totalcmd)
Cheers!

K I've removed the android folder and placed it in the part1 folder.
But although it can't handle the full 24fps at first (it can starting from the second loop) it is still faster if you put it on 24fps then when u use 15fps.
So personally I like 24 more then the 15 (15 looks a bit laggy imo)
