/system/media/ui/PowerOn.ogg remove that and you will be good for bootup sound, or remove teh service in the init.rc of teh kernelwell everythings working but the only thing i can't get working is sound, the orignal sound keeps playing no matter what i do...
are the mounting points for system the same on all phones? Verizon, at&t, sprint?
Well see that's what I don't understand is that I overwrote the file and it still plays the stock sound. As for the kernel I have absolutely no idea how to do that lol/system/media/ui/PowerOn.ogg remove that and you will be good for bootup sound, or remove teh service in the init.rc of teh kernel![]()

are these taking into consideration for the new DTB files that need to be done to kernels? snapdragon 800 added a new thing regarding making a true recovery/boot.img (similar to how the snapdragon 4 added the ramdisk address to make it boot).http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2319018
Unpack, ramdisk (with init.rc inside) will also get unpacked. Then just remove the Samsung power up sound service towards the bottom
If you're on Windows, use VTS to unpack/repack

you need a zImage, teh ramdisk, and dtb files. you pack the zImage with ramdisk to get boot.img/recovery.img. then you add the dtb files onto it to make it bootable.speak english please lol. i was setting up linux right now to see if i could do anything
..ok i see init.rc under root explorer but what and where is a ramdisk?http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2319018

It would be cool to see an Aroma based bootani installer like you made for the Note 2. Im sure that would take a lot of time and effort though.Well I'm always looking for ideas so throw any my way![]()
