Silly question but can I flash these in recovery or do I need to go through the steps in root explorer in the op?

Depends on the animation. The red items on the list are not flashable while the blue links are.

I took a look at the animation and I realized that the image would be really stretched out. If you don't mind that, I'll still port it over. I wasn't sure if you still wanted the boot animation. :)
I would of you don't mind? thanks

Hi, if it isn't much trouble, do you think you could do an animation that says "follow the white rabbit." in console text? I'm not sure if you've seen the Matrix (you'd be surprised how many people haven't), but if you have, you'll know what I'm talking about from the first scene of the movie. I'd link you to a video but it's my first post. Doesn't have to be exactly the same. It's the message that counts :) Do you also think it would be possible for it not to loop, and just have a flashing prompt (such as those on a terminal) until boot finishes? Thanks a bunch!

Do you know the font? And would you have it in portrait or landscape mode?

Edit: Okay follow the white rabbit...
You can flash it in CWM or extract the bootanimation.zip and copy it in /system/media/.

Thanks a bunch! Looks great.

EDIT: Do you think it would be possible to extend the end of the animation (the blinking part) for another 5-10 seconds so it doesn't go black for so long before actually booting? I hate to be a bother.

I'll try it tomorrow again, but I'm not very hopeful. I have set a loop for the flash and I think the time with the black screen is normal.

Edit: Here you have it, depending on the boot time without black screen. It could also be, that has now been taken the boot time into the length. Now I have raised the flash (the blinking part;)) to 12 and then i have added a loop for the case of the cases.

Just as a "by the way" That some may find useful; when I rename the bootanimation.zip file, I generally insert a descriptive word, so if the animation had a car on it for example I would rename it bootanimationcar.zip, it certainly helps to remember which one of the many downloaded boot animations is which when I change it yet again ;)

Google Gears

Would you be able to resize the Google Gears animation? There's a nice one done for the GNex, but it's too small on our screens, and I think the 30fps is a little fast. A cool idea I saw was positioning the animation's Google logo in the same place as when it starts up.

Thanks in advance to the person that does this! I'm toying around with some resizing of the other one, but I don't trust myself lol. If I do succeed, I'll try to post it.

Edit: My attempts were not successful. While waiting for a resized one, I still think the GNex one is a nice substitute :)

Hello, just wanted to say your work is the shiznit! I was wondering if you could make a boot animation out of a movie clip? Say like Scarface or Godfather.. That would just be to sweet! Don't know if thats possible but it certainly would make my Nexus 7 LTE the envy of my buddies!
Please let me know if that sounds like something you'd be interested in.

Thanks!

Hey I have an unusual request, I'm an old school computer guy and I was wondering if you could put together a boot animation that would resemble the old BIOS boot screen from a computer I have not found anyone that is able to do this I would greatly appreciate it

Yes please, if you have time, a Tardis going through the time vortex would be great. I can even send you a clip of that if you can't pull one from youtube.

Also, could you do a Deadpool spinning logo bootanimation?
Here's a pic.

Could you Pm me the link to the tardis clip ? BTW that deadpool thing looks sick so I'm getting started on that!

Revamping the list to have previews. Also fixed CM10 red animation for those who couldn't download it.
