Boot loop - confirmation of suspicions needed please

My 2 year old G3 has suddenly starting crashing/rebooting randomly. A system reset did not help.
I have noticed that the restarts seem to happen when loading a "heavy" app (Excel, Chrome) and it gets stuck in a boot-loop.
The boot-loop stops when I plug the phone into the charger, and it finishes the boot.

That sounds suspiciously like a battery that is failing (doesn't have enough amps to finish the boot, or load a big app).

Anyone here agree?

Maybe you need to give a little more info on what you are running on this old G3? (i.e. What ROM, is it rooted, stock, etc.)

not rooted, stock LP 5.0.1

I have also noticed the problem does not occur when on WiFi. (I assume wifi uses less battery power???)

I'd try getting a new battery.

I would try getting a new battery also. If that doesnt solve it then try using lg flash tool to restore.
