Lovin this bootanimation!

I have 2 requests.

1. Have the cpu speed show 1.516Ghz or create a alternate version with said speed

2. Re-Implement the mask shine...

Other than that. I love it. Everyone's always asking why my device is booting DOS and it makes me laugh!
Working on the speed.....what's the mask shine?

*edit*

Posted the updates. Still don't know what you mean by the mask shine.

Works great on my G2 running CM6.1 (not 6.1.1 yet) and pushed to /data/local.

I know everyone probably knows this already but I figured I'd mention it, you don't need to use ADB to push it (for those who are nervous or unfamiliar with using ADB). You can use Terminal Emulator with these steps.

  • In terminal emulator type SU to grant yourself superuser rights.
  • Now type: cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local (note, it will not give you any confirmation that the process succeeded, but it will yell at you if it failed.)
  • Now type: reboot
  • If it worked you're done! You should see your new boot animation!

As always I'm not responsible for any damage or bricking of your device by following these steps.

I hope this helps some!

Oh yeah! Thanks for this to the OP, I LOVE IT!

I just downloaded the zip from the OP using the XDA app from my phone, but can't find the file..where does the app store stuff at?

Edit:

Well I used my internet browser on the phone and just downloaded it through that and then used Astro to move the file to just the sdcard not a speific file then did the

And got it working now..goes pretty fast though can barely read what it says during bootup having the 1.5ghz overclock.

If you do another update, I would suggest making it flashable through Rom Manager, was sorta a headache what happened with me..which I've yet to find where the XDA app put the file at.

Just make a .zip hat can be flashed - like an update.zip

In ROM Manager you can then select 'install ROM from SDcard' find the zip you want to flash then it will boot to recovery, flash it, and reboot normally on it's own.

Just make sure in settings to uncheck all the auto backup options. I'll post an example of that .zip just put the bootanimation in it (rename bios_cm6_xxxxx.zip to bootanimation.zip).

You could also just use a terminal emulator or a su capable file explorer to move it to system/media. But we love flashable zips don't we:D

Add sound to really make it authentic

Just lurking from the Incredible forums :)

You guys want to make it really authentic, unzip the attached zip file and presuming the mp3 file on the Desire is named android_audio.mp3, dump the mp3 file (not the zip file) in the same folder as the bootanimation.zip.

It's the sound of an old computer drives spinning up and loading to DOS.

If your Desire sues a different name for the startup sound just rename the file accordingly.

Enjoy.
