Looks excellent, and hats off to you sir.

But when downloaded the 2.3 CM7 800MHz version, I looked through some of the image files and I see that:

2.3 is still 2.2
CM7 is still CM 6.x

Just thought I'd let you know, I think it's a very cool boot animation though, and I'm glad somebody finally made nice versions of it for the Vision and is sharing it with everyone! :D

Thank's I'll work on the fix. ASAP!

*edit*
I fixed the 2.2 to 2.3 issue.
I couldn't find the 6.x on any of the frames....
OP is fixed. I've fixed it on all versions.

I'm not up for flashing sense just to test at the moment.....if anyone from Sense has any input on how to get it working, I could make the adjustments.

BTW, is it giving you an error? black screen? or did the boot animation change at all?

Just lurking from the Incredible forums :)

You guys want to make it really authentic, unzip the attached zip file and presuming the mp3 file on the Desire is named android_audio.mp3, dump the mp3 file (not the zip file) in the same folder as the bootanimation.zip.

It's the sound of an old computer drives spinning up and loading to DOS.

If your Desire sues a different name for the startup sound just rename the file accordingly.

Enjoy.

messin' wiht this our system/media has an audio folder in it is a ui folder all the files there are of type .ogg

i tried just putting the mp3 in there but, that did not work will try to convert the mp3 to an ogg later and try again. also, not sure if the file name is the same. in our ui folder we have names like KeypressReturn, Lock, LowBattery .... does the location you got the android_audio file from on the Incredible have the same files as above?

For those running sense your bootanimation is found in this location. System/customize/resource

Thanks for response. Hopefully someone with sense will give feedback.

Thanks. Been waiting for someone to test that....I figured it would be a directory issue ..

It does, but I have flashed several ROMs on my Incredible and there are several different locations and file names depending on the ROM.

I am currently running a Desire Z based rom and both files are in the /system/customize/resource folder.
bootanimation.zip and android_audio.mp3

No problem, I only knew because someone asked in my bootanimation thread so I extracted a sense rom to find it

Like I am using the gingervillain rom, which is oc'ed to 1.51 Ghz...
do I use the 1.51 ghz one?
Does my phone have to run at 1.51 ghz to acutally use it?

Cool, I finally managhed to get adb to work.
I get the first two steps, but i dont know the last step.
When I type that in, it says cannot stat bootanimation.zip: no such file or directory. Do I have to place the zip file in a special location?
Do I rename the zip to bootanimation.zip or do I unzip it and tHEN rename it to bootanimation.zip?

thx for ur help!

The name of the file should be "bootanimation.zip", without quotes. The commands in OP works only if you put the file where your adb.exe is. I put the file where ever your adb is. Otherwise you would just tell adb where the directory is.

Example:
You put file on sdcard root.

adb remount

adb push /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local/bootanimation.zip

No you do not have to unzip it.

Why are the file sizes for CM7 so much more than 6? I checked the package of the cm7 versions and they also contain a bootanimation.zip. Am I supposed to remove the "extra" .zip?

Use term emu on device and su copy to /local/data
I confirm this works to setup this bootani. XDA app stores to 'tapatalkdownload' on sdcard. Still workin on boot sound. Does stock rom have a boot sound? And can someone locate what folder it is in?

To OP; props on the best bootani I've seen! Can we get one for Flippy's 1.8Ghz kernel next?

HTC Vision 1.8 OC, CM7 RC1==HAPPY!!

Could I get one for 1.8GHz? =D
Will work on it. :D

Can you provide me with the exact clockspeed for your kernel?
i.e. 1.5 GHz is actually 1516 GHz

I added extra frames to make it smoother. The originals seemed to rush the animation, so you can't really appreciate the details. You'll have to wait for the animation loop at the end anyways, so might as well appreciate the details as well.
