The ones i did years back still work fine. The size for them 10mb though. I thought there was no limit in size? (Also, the app I used before no longer working so not sure how to exactly do it today). I tried Boot Animation Factory Tool and gif2boot-master but the resolution I need not supported.

Hi guys,
I made those bootanimations for my personal use but I thought to share them. They will work on any resolution, but they might be displayed too big or too small depending on your resolution. If you don't like the original size, you can resize them to your liking using the Boot Animation Factory Tool, that I also attached here because the links in the original thread are dead.
Instructions
1 - Download any bootanimation.zip
2 - Rename it to bootanimation.zip
3 - Using a file explorer like Root Explorer move the downloaded bootanimation.zip to your system/media folder
4 - Set the bootanimation.zip permissions to 644 (rw-r--r--)
5 - Reboot your phone
Note 1 - They work on AOSP/LOS and probably other roms. Note 2 - They don't work on Samsung stock and Samsung stock based roms. Note 3 - I don't take bootanimations requests.
Not really. I made & attached a lot of them here, but with the xda migration they got lost, plus I totally forgot how to make it. I'm pretty sure you'll find how to make a twrp &/or magisk flashable with a little search.
I openened bootanimations made by Mauam, and the structure in the flashable ones are different, but i couldn't use any of them.
That's why I prefer to learn instead of keep asking all the time to change something in it until I can flash it.
I can't root my phone as some apps I really need will stop working.
Cheers man!

There are two folders:
Code:
/META-INF/
/system/
Looking under /system/, the animation falls under /system/media/bootanimation.zip. Any file/directory structure you create under /system/ in the zip archive will get loaded to the path(s) you specify.
One animation path that's "official" per Google is "/oem/media/bootanimation.zip". It's been a while, but to get /oem/ as an install path, you'll have to modify the file in the zip archive:
/META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
Anything in that file /system would be changed to /oem:
I'm over-simplifying the updater-script; there's much more that can be done with it. I'll also add that that's what **WAS** done before Android started locking the system down, and crippling rooting.
I'm not sure how TWRP ZIP files handle the newer Magisk rooting methods; there are just so many variables and exceptions depending on ROM, Android version, and root method. Leaving everything in a base bootanimation.zip file and letting the user adjust is much more practical than trying to compensate for all of the insanity out there.
They're all there if you change the view order to 'last change' instead of the default 'by name'. Google bugs, you know right!? There's no need to change anymore, I put a new link in the OP with the 'last change' by default, so you can see them all now.
Thank you for putting time into these animations provided and I appreciate you sharing them!!
Is Android 12 compatible?? I know that there were a lot of changes in API from Android 11 to 12, and I'm having a hard time finding any information regarding customizations for 12 so far. Are these boot animations and the instructions to use them the same? I have a Pixel 3 XL with stock ROM, rooted with Magisk v23 running Android 12.
