What are the effects of newest bootloader actually? Had flashed latest bootloader and modem onto latest lineage. Signal have improved noticeably but experienced 10% battery drain after unplugging for 3 hours with 0 SOT this morning.

Neither bootloader nor modem cause battery drain - modem in theory could if not suitable for your region or provider but in your case signal has improved so :good:

I suggest to check deeper where/when drain happens :fingers-crossed:

Hahaha thanks bro! I'll look into it and keep you updated. Just a question tho, does reverting to stock ROM via Odin count as downgrading bootloader? I am from Malaysia, stock ROM tar file from SAM has an older bootloader version.

There shouldn't be any problem while flashing NI4 firmware for Malaysia - firmware with MD5 bootloader or beneath will fail for sure.

Hello mate, got SDS last month and repaired back to 4.1.2 JB.

Before SDS bricked, I'm using 4.4.4 custom firmware for as long as I can remember, (install and forget), so now I want to revert back to at least 4.4.2, but I'm getting confused about the newer bootloader.

I want to ask about what's the last bootloader version that is compatible with Agni Kernel 4.5.5?

I heard PF1 bootloader was not compatible with agni kernel anymore, and if I Flash PF1 can I go back to FN1 bootloader ?

I think that I need some help here. Tried a lot of bootloaders on my N7100 and none of them allow me anymore to get into TWRP. It is stuck at boot screen.

Any suggestions? Also, looking for the ND3 bootloader and all links for it are down.

Edit: already got it working and with latest bootloader and modem, QA2, by flashing the latest Italy stock.

BOOTLOADERSECTION

Bootloader :
The bootloader is a code that is executed before any Operating System starts to run. Bootloaders basically package the instructions to boot operating system kernel and most of them also have their own debugging or modification environment. Think of the bootloader as a security checkpoint for all those partitions. Because if you are able to swap out what’s on those partitions, you’re able to break things if you don’t know what you’re doing. So basically it commands the kernel of your device to boot the device properly without any issues. So careful with bootloader since it can mess things very badly.

First of all:
I hope you know what you are going to do by flashing the bootloader! HERE find a short description how.
Neither XDA nor me take any responsibility if your device takes any harm by flashing provided downloads!

Installation:
Flash through Odin in tab BL

I flashed ColtOS in note 2. Since then imei and baseband are shown unknown. Then, I thought switching back to previous rom i.e. Agni Rom by Team Eclipse, would help. I did and still imei and baseband were shown unknown. I am now on LineageOS 7.1.2 with no simcard working. I researched out that flashing correct modem file will fix this problem. Please suggest me which modem file do I need to flash. Also, I am currently on MJ5 bootloader, should I also flash newer bootloader to run nougat smoothly??
