Since we have been waiting a long time without root still, its time to kickstart this subforum with some incentive.

No quickroot toolkit works with the S6 active at the moment (odin, kingroot, pingpong, etc.), so to anyone who can bypass DM-Verify and can utilize any current exploit, money is the reward.

What is the difference on the normal AT&T S6 and this one software wise?

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe there is no significant difference. However, the s6 active's software is post May 15. May 15 was when a patch for the kernal was released which fixed a rootable exploit.

As of now, CVE-2016-0728 is getting attention for its potential to gain root for the active. DM-Verify is also a problem that needs to be solved for root access as well.

Is bootloader locked?
Go check OEM unlock on Developers Settings.

If it's not unlockable, you'll need someone like geohot to root.

4. Enter recovery (probably volume up + home button + sleep button)
5. Install SuperSU
6. Reboot

If this doesn't work, it's very likely that your bootloader is locked.
If so, you guys are probably out of luck completely since SELinux on recent versions of Android/Touchwiz is very strong that even if you get exploits to the kernel, the root permission wouldn't do anything to install su binary to the system.
