I can flash combo and have some vulns so yes, I can get it to show on stock on both g975u and n976v as well as can oem unlock in odin but it's still not unlocked.Had the toggle been in the settings for you?
Yeah I'm not very savy when it comes to Samsung. Maybe someone with greater expertise will figure it out and this incentive will move it along.I can flash combo and have some vulns so yes, I can get it to show on stock on both g975u and n976v as well as can oem unlock in odin but it's still not unlocked.
i been trying since s10 lineup launched lol.. i dont think ppl really care about bounties anymore.. last one i got was s8/s8+ root and didnt even turn out to a fifth of what was pledged..Yeah I'm not very savy when it comes to Samsung. I believe i remember hearing it mainly had to do with SamPay...that in the U.S. they have the ability to be one of the few providers (sampay and google pay) whereas they are late on the scene in Asia and Europe so less of a chance to monopolize those markets.I think the main reason for Samsung and other Companies lock the bootloader for Carriers is to stop people from rooting so they can't steal unlimited Hotspot data. Anything else like noobie customers messing their phones up asking for replacements is just a drop in the the bucket

But I do agree we paid a lot of money for a phone that shouldn't be bootloader locked. It's our right to determine whether or not we want a secured phone or not. It's not their information and money being compromised so why should they care.

Exactly! Don't need or want samsung pay, or knox. Hardware isn't really mine if I don't have full access to do whatever I want!Guess I'm not most people....
SM-N9750/ds rooted/bootloader unlocked...
Don't use sam pay...if i really wanted to or needed to my galaxy watch will do it. Love some Viper audio, built in spam calling protection, Call rec etc. Its my phone...i require su permissions to really believe that.

And you can. Just don't root it should an option appear to..Well, I think most people would want to keep Samsung pay, Knox, etc. Rooting is just not worth it for a Samsung flagship nowdays.
Yeah but no matter what more people don't use it than people that do. Just the other day some lady seen me using SamPay and was like what happens if you loose your phone I wouldn't do nothing like that.I believe i remember hearing it mainly had to do with SamPay...that in the U.S. they have the ability to be one of the few providers (sampay and google pay) whereas they are late on the scene in Asia and Europe so less of a chance to monopolize those markets.
So they basically are doing it to prevent as many as possible from breaking knox so they will be more likely to use it.

If you lose your phone they would need your credentials to get into your phone to use Samsung pay.Yeah but no matter what more people don't use it than people that do. in an example of buying property such as a house, you go through a realtor so that what is sold dosen't have hidden vices. this is not 100% failsafe but helps alot. so when you do sign , you are made aware of the details of the property and are fully aware of what was purchased and agree with the conditions at hand. Why give up so easy on the right to have 100% property rights over what I paid for?
Would you like to have someone else deciding for your life decisions? Welcome to communism. Been there, I'm out and don't wanna go back.
The issue is that ppl have a tendency to accept this fist in the mouth like something normal, thus accepting the normality of locked bootloader. What if many wouldn't want to buy locked bootloader? Utopia right?
A giant tech like samsung doesn't care about a small fraction of geeks who want this unlocked bootloader.
Still, one can only hope ...
Lol China are just communists by name. So basically you said buying a non USA one would be the way to go since the majority of these are bootloader unlockable ? Obviously for those that want that ability. Else, others should stop complaining? Its human nature to complain, even more so from the choices wrong or right that we make....in an example of buying property such as a house, you go through a realtor so that what is sold dosen't have hidden vices. this is not 100% failsafe but helps alot. so when you do sign , you are made aware of the details of the property and are fully aware of what was purchased and agree with the conditions at hand.
in the case of buying a phone on north americain soil, the user is expected to put their big boy pants on and thinking cap so to do the right thing and buy the correct device. common knowlege states that for a few years now that there is something brewing amongst the carriers where users are locked out of their "freedom" of purchase( aka locked BL). more and more devices are locked(different manufacturers) in accordance of carrier requests. while totaly uncalled for, this is the real problem. the government and or fcc is working hand in hand with the carriers and is allowing this practice to spread. I'd petition against carrier and at the regulation level if its something i believed in. samsung and the likes are producing phone models specifically for north America specifically as per carrier specs, its a work order. you can't ask a manufacturer to not produce a device that was specifically required under contract or to change it. they can't break the contract. what you can do is look at who's responsible for making these millions of unit orders and reselling them and point the finger at them. simply look at the rest of the world, the snapdragon and exynos models are sold everywhere else with unlockable bootloaders. isn't that proof enough that corporate greed and bad government ethics in N. america is why this is happening?
in the meantime, north Americans buying international versions of the aforementioned device get to enjoy their devices fully but yet at a small price of spay not working( and other knox related features). but helluva better scenario than willfully purchasing a carrier owned device (even when eventually payed off..lol)
all in all, policy needs to change and usualy you do that by voting. laws stop companies from doing such things not petitions but capitalism is a virus that has gone out of control and infiltrated government..so in the end, if a buck is to be made, its at our expense whether we like it or not. the only true vote we have is where and how we spend our money. so give it towards something you actually want/use, complaining is just a way to help cope with the sad truth of the negative outcome of a decision or mistake.
( btw regarding the communist remark: china can unlock their BL and achieve root.. )
dosen't the understanding of such things help the individuals make the proper choice or at least give them the proper knowledge to wage war at the right place rather than simply testifying their stance against something? i mean to be unhappy and to demonstrate it is everyone's right(aka complain). but to expect change from this is folly. the energies put into contesting malpractice should be gathered and focused towards the true culrpits using official means. consumer rights should help people but i have a feeling even they sit at the same tables as the culrpits. Money is the currency with which we sign bills and sway the masses. its all that matters nowadays. any big movment has to have big money behind it or have big impacts financially for it to achive greatness.Lol China are just communists by name. It's still worth signing the petition. Its not going to cost you anything.dosen't the understanding of such things help the individuals make the proper choice or at least give them the proper knowledge to wage war at the right place rather than simply testifying their stance against something? i mean to be unhappy and to demonstrate it is everyone's right(aka complain). but to expect change from this is folly. the energies put into contesting malpractice should be gathered and focused towards the true culrpits using official means. consumer rights should help people but i have a feeling even they sit at the same tables as the culrpits. but that's the basis of my argument - worth. even if it seemingly costs nothing, the worthiness of an action towards a common goal should be towards actual change and taking action using the best possible means to meet those goals. or else its just an other failed attempt. each "petition" i see poping up since a few years has the same mind set: petition samsung to unlock the BL. to date none of this has yeilded any results. It's still worth signing the petition. Its not going to cost you anything.
Ok let me clarify. I've signed it as step 1 and step 2, I won't buy Samsung devices anymore.but that's the basis of my argument - worth. even if it seemingly costs nothing, the worthiness of an action towards a common goal should be towards actual change and taking action using the best possible means to meet those goals. or else its just an other failed attempt. each "petition" i see poping up since a few years has the same mind set: petition samsung to unlock the BL. to date none of this has yeilded any results.
If i ask a mc donalds employee to stop making cheap low grade burgers because I pay hard earned money, what chances do i have of acually achieving my wishes using that channel?
if i go to the food and drug administration a build a case against MC donalds and prove that they are putting low grade meats and substitutes endangering our lives, maybe laws and or sanctions would be imposed and force a change. regulation would change.
so i believe that the same thing is true with carriers. again the rest if the world does not have this issue. so isint it well worth the effort to knock on the right door?
or do you think samsung would stop filling out orders to carriers to appease north American clients and make a stance against carriers?
i mean if you pay me to jump, ill say how high. especialy if my business is jumping. so i believe in the case where we petitions Samsung to unlock something that is a carrier requirement and was worked through a contract, getting the manufacturer to change dosen't make sense.( i also do believe that the contract forces them to also sell locked BL in unlocked phones. because lets face it, these devices will end up on carrier lines anyways and i bet that's part of the deal. they allow it but want em to be locked just like their's. i wouldint be surprised if down the road, imei blacklisting would occur on devices where the BL is currently unlocked. carriers are probably aiming towards that...)
would you ask foxcon to stop making cheap parts for apple?(lets not forget, apple asks to produce x amount of chips at the lowest possible rate) or would you rather try and change regulation that forces companies to sell better quality products especially when we pay them at a premium?
now your talking!Ok let me clarify. I've signed it and also won't buy Samsung devices anymore.

I know it's USA market specific issue, its because American organizations treat security much more highly than the rest of the world. It's been discussed by the legendary scholar XDA member "whatever_happened_to_xda", anyone find that thread? His stay was short-lived here.now your talking!
but you can still buy samsung through international means. the effect would be just the same because in the ladder examples, you still seem to think this is 100% a sammy issue when again, its more towards a carrier/American malpractice.
