Yes I agree but that isn't an excuse to be rude, and yes at least they are trying and supportive, they pledged $700 so I'm thankfulI agree. But the horologist post was hysterical, don't you agree?

The day after i bought my S4 from ATT they pushed the jellybean update which knoxed everything up.....safestrap...lol. I've been following this fight since DAY ONE. You'd be dumb to care to try and root your carrier note 10. Sell it on swappa. Take the money and buy an international version. Done. Otherwise, root just isn't that important to you or you made an unwise decision and choose to continue wallowing in the repercussions of it.Well if people know anyone on here we can get a team and unlock the bootloader/root I've been trying to find possible "bugs" but nothing at all its extremely hard because older tricks that people used are patched and I'm still running 9.0 on my note 10 and still nothing.... I dont want to update to 10.0 till people find a root method but its extremely hard now a days but with a team I feel like it could be done
i been (what seems like) working alone for months n months now.. nit one person has messaged me or even indicated they were also trying lol
im making headway on n960u today.. i can now write to system vendor and odm partitions on combo using my already posted n9 combo root and an olllld trick im surprised even works lol
The only issue there is cost. The idea isn't that root or unlockable bootloaders are unattainable. It's just that something seems fundamentally wrong if it needs to come at a premium. I personally have no interest in paying full price plus some for a phone that will be worth half that in 90 days time. Not to mention most people shouldn't pay that much regardless or simply can't afford to. It's all a huge up sale to aid carrier subsidized pricing, which you won't be able to take advantage of importing an F model. We won't even get into warranty support. The day after i bought my S4 from ATT they pushed the jellybean update which knoxed everything up.....safestrap...lol. Fun days..
You can take your carrier n975u (carrier unlocked) and sell it on swappa right now for $700. Then take that $700 and buy an international n975f (region unlocked). Nearly an even money exchange. No premium. The only issue there is cost. The idea isn't that root or unlockable bootloaders are unattainable. It's just that something seems fundamentally wrong if it needs to come at a premium. Just for clarity for anyone reading these. The bootloaders are locked by region. So someone might interpret "international" as the unlocked varient, which is still bootloader locked in North America.

will the international device work on USA carriers???You can take your carrier n975u (carrier unlocked) and sell it on swappa right now for $700. Then take that $700 and buy an international n975f (region unlocked). Nearly an even money exchange. No premium.![]()

The comment I responded to said something about it being pointless to try to unlock the bootloader on a carrier model. As if the (sim) unlocked are an exception. If they are locked in your region they usually are all bootloader locked.Don't understand your last sentence.

Yes. You just lose warranty support and maybe some (not all) lte bands depending on your carrier. 5g probably wouldn't work.will the international device work on USA carriers???
Thanks for the clarification, it almost sounded like you were saying F models won't work in the USA.[emoji1787] But then again English is my 1st language. That only applies to people that paid in full and a lot of people don't pay in full. Does swappa let you sell devices still on lease? That was my point. A lot of users subsidize.

Absolutely, yes you may sell your subsidized device. ?That only applies to people that paid in full and a lot of people don't pay in full. Does swappa let you sell devices still on lease? That was my point. A lot of users subsidize.

Go buy any phone you want from ATT for $30 per month. SELL it on Swappa. Take the $700 you got from selling that ATT phone and go buy a mint international n975f for the same price. Continue paying your $30 a month to ATT for the phone that you bought from them (and then sold).
It's legit. Don't take my word for it, ask ATT outright.... there's nothing to hide. That's what most of us in USA do.... I've been doing it for 6 years and several devices.
Edit: International n97f is a GSM network device...so no joy for VZW/SPR users.
Huh. I never noticed it. There's no way for swappa to confirm. I guess buyer beware since it's rampant. And if you're buying any carrier device, hopefully your seller isn't an a$$hole and gets your device blacklisted.I mean I've sold on swappa quite a bit and I always noted their rules said otherwise about devices on plans. I suppose I don't know how they would check but swappa seems to look down on it.
The reality is they do not want you to sell devices on payment plans unless they are paid off. Reason if you sell the device and then for whatever reason default on the payments, the carrier will shut down the phone. The person that bought your phone essentially just paid top dollar for a paper weight. Deals like this doesn't reflect well on Swappa.Absolutely, yes you may sell your subsidized device.
