What a terrible phone. I'm going to send it back as soon as it arrives.

Samsung, this is the 2nd huge disappoint you've given me. Not to mention exploding batteries. Poor quality displays. Peeling back plates. 1-3m wifi.

No |3u||, I'll add $50 for a no Knox exploit for n920p. It will require an exploit that includes holes found in more than just Samsung devices.

I'm refering to dmverity hash tree, locked bootloaders, and Knox, let alone encryption. These obstacles are bold challenges orchestrated by teams of developers at billion dollar companies written under insurance firms and the such. We're the voice of the user, & we need to be yelling right now.

Don't expect them to hear you.

If i cant fix it i can break it. Meaning AOSP, Samsung, MicroCyansoft, and Google will suffer monatrily. I can build a 3g device for sms and hotspot, I can fight all of them with cheap devices that capture the data of specific user types & develop negative tech, or the open development between user & bigTech can continue. Google cryptowars. I left xda for a long time because people dont care about security, or their rights, or the fact the user agreement allows the user to be a tool, or doormat.

You will not be able to get any other rom on the Verizon Galaxy Note 5.. At least not until we figure out how to root it. Until then, there's no AOSP CyanogenMod.. Nothing!

This is the best phone I have ever owned from a hardware perspective. The display is fantastic as is the camera. Touchwiz isn't that bad on the Note 5. Fast wireless charging is great. The fingerprint sensor is pretty good too.

It feels good in the hand and is beautiful too. I don't miss the lack of removable battery with the fast wireless charging and the lack of an SD card isn't an issue for me either, as I remove my pictures from my phone anyhow.

Of course I wish I could root it but at least FoxFi works so I can WiFi tether for free.

What phone out there has better hardware? The S7 Edge? I like that phone but I like the stylus too so I will wait for the Note 6.

The Moto X Pure has better software experience but the camera and display can't compete with the Note 5. I don't want an Huawei phone so the Nexus 6P is out for me.

Thanks so much to everyone for all of the support in trying to get this device rooted!
There is a lot of discussion on this thread that does NOT need to be here. I would kindly ask that the discussion be kept n920v relevant, and that any contributions be made about the verizon variant SPECIFICALLY. Users not following these rules will be reported, because you are not contributing to the development nor the bounty. The next generation of phones are coming out, and this thread is likely to be dead with no resolution whatsoever, until a retroactive exploit is discovered that lets us break into this device. So with that said, I will kindly ask one last time to keep the discussion relevant to the thread. Only pledges and contributions to the dev are allowed.

...
I'm in for $100 for root on N920V.

Good luck and I cannot wait to root my Note 5. Ive been lurking on here for years too, but im ready to be part of this endeavor.

I'd rather pay for root than upgrade to the Note 7. The 7 doesn't have the nice accessories yet anyways. =)
