yes thats right. I've been doing my research for weeks....i have found root for verizon note 5 sm-n920v for those who might still be waiting to root it if they still have that phone.
the easiest way to root is download the program call wondershare mobile go....just click on one-click root and it will do the job for you....it should take only a few seconds to root....then from there download chainfire app and flash supersu.zip file....then u can do whatever you want from there.....this software is easy to use and very helpful....
I had to wait this long to get root on this freaken phone....I bought it when it first came out....every year i tried looking for a rooting solution but couldnt find any.... i hope others who havent found root on this phone can finally root it just like me.
btw, if you are on android 7,0 and it doesnt work...then download the combination file and flash it with odin....then using that wondershare mobile go program should easily root it....that combination file is on android 5.1.1. You can find it on google search.
