Hello,
I'm a noob smartphoner who has managed to really step up the juice and functionality of my rig thanks to this great forum. Thanks for that. My question and desired app revolves around the possibility of
using my phone as portable obd ii scanner. I have two purpose built automotive scan tools that use Bluetooth communications with the vehicle. The Launch x431 Diagun and the Snap-on Verdict. In the world of auto repair tools are highly valued and having a streamlined app that could utilize the existing tools in the market would fetch big bucks $$$.$$
Thanks for consideration or assistance

Check out Torque (there even a free version you can try) or bluetooth OBD Reader. Just search market for OBD and you will find a handful of apps that will work with bluetooth adapters; unless that is not what you are looking for

Yes, I use torque and it works unbelievably well. Go on ebay and search for a bluetooth obdII scanner. It's about $20 from Hong Kong or somewhere over there and it'll get here in about 2 weeks.

If you have too much trouble with those ELM 1.2 knockoffs from China, check out the OBDLink BT module from Scantool. It's a full ELM327 1.4+ device. Check around for complaints before you get one. :)
