BRAVIA ENGINE 2 WORKS on unlocked in 4.4 !

I've just noticed that when flashing 4.4, you also have a chance to flash TA with it. I have the Jozinek press version. Not sure if it is on others, maybe check and write it back here. A little bit OT but do you guys also lag like hell?

Its not working for me BTW I did a update using OTA and not SUS or Sony PC Companion ? will that be a problem ? Shall I just use SUS to install the firmware again?

It's working again! Even after getting my drm keys lost, BE2 is working after the 4.4 update! still having BL unlocked, running stock kernel not rooted

You can clearly see the above posts that what differences are there..

I can confirm too that OTA update will never make BE2 work.. I used SUS to update and BE2 is working again

Those who got Bravia engine working after the kit Kat update on unlocked bootloader, can you go to service menu (*#*#7378423#*#*) then service tests -> security. Take a screen shot and post it here please.

if that the case, then you will only have BE engine if you unlock bootloader before upgrading to KitKat ..

if you unlock BL after upgrading to KitKat, you will loose the TA partition and therefor loose BE ..

still, you can unlock your BL and then flash the TA partition only from the ftf. guess that may work. just remember not to wipe data

I think it would be safer if I just downgrade to JB, unlock BL then upgrade back to KK ..

TA partition suppose to be specific for each phone, you can't use any TA partition on any phone ..

I just wanted to ask that what is the use of unlocked bootloader ? I first locked my bootloader on 4.3 and then upgraded via OTA (NO BE2) then upgraded using SUS and BE2 works perfectly with pictures and movies too.

So can someone explain what is the use of Unlocked bootloader?
