For security reasons I'll jump ship as soon as (hoping that is) a custom ROM based on Android 12 becomes available. I did the same with Oppo's R7 Plus, which was already a year out of date by the time my order was delivered (that had me hopping made straight off). Lineage kept that phone going for five years. Oppo never released a single security update, let alone an upgrade to the Android version. The company (and it's umbrella sub companies) can't keep doing this. The pity of it is, is that the hardware is excellent for the price. But if you value your data and privacy, speedy security and OS updates are vital.

you are expecting too much from budget company, a lot of phones that came out back when x2 pro did, had android 9: xiaomi mi9t pro (august 2019), note 8 and pro version (september 2019), mi note 10 and pro (november 2019)

global mi9t pro got android 11 barely one month before x2 pro, but we know how miui 12.5 with android 11 works on xiaomi devices (or we don't?) and guess what, rui 2.0 works fine for me (and probably not only for me), reinstalling app/doing factory reset is too hard?

there are huawei p30 and p30 pro that will never get into android 11 (figure out why) and both have started with android 9

i guess complaing about x2 pro is trendy here
I think that's fair. I've been using the Poco F3 for a couple of months and coming back to the Realme X2 Pro is so much better than MIUI 12.5. Realme UI 1.0 and now 2.0 are SO much easier to use that MIUI.

I was always about getting the latest hardware and there is no denying that the Poco F3 is a great piece of hardware for not much money... But it is a nightmare to use MIUI software.

For all its flaws, Realme UI 1.0 and now 2.0 on the X2 Pro is so much easier to live with. I'm glad to be using it again after 2 months with MIUI.

The performance difference for day to day tasks is really imperceptible between Qualcomm's 855+ and the new 870 chip. What benefits there were from the better hardware were, I feel, wiped out by MIUI...

One issue though is that in upgrading to F.11 my previous install of the GCAM APK has died. I cannot even launch it. It's disappeared!

Q. Is anyone else running a version of GCAM successfully on the F.11 update? If yes, which one?
Try to clear all data app from android apps settings. It seems like ultra wide and telephoto lenses are broken. If u enable them in GCam setting app will crash. I tried few GCam apks and only main lens works. That kinda sucks because on Android 10 everything was fine

I am gonna do the same although I have no idea if you can unlock the bootloader on RUI 2.0, since it was already a problem for few months

Updated 2 days ago. It does feel as a more refined experience overall and I think I'm ok with that, did not expected any revolution of some sort. But overall behaviour is really satisfying, it is not bad at all and it feels lighter, smoother and more modern. And battery life seems to be on point again. I did not factory reset

Ok, two bugs now. The first is that RealMe's launcher won't show some icons. You have to go to Google Play Store to see them. The example I have is FL Studio for Windows. Nova launcher doesn't have a problem.

The second bug involves VPNs. They've stopped working. I get a message saying that they're blocked by the administrator. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't fix it. I can't see any way to resolve this myself.

I'm not sure if this is an Android 11 issue or a RealMe OS issue.

The two VPNs I use are PureVPN and NORTON 360, depending on connectivity.

If anyone has the same issues, or has a fix, I'd really appreciate your help. Thank you.

Looking into PureVPNs settings there was an option to make this the default VPN on Android. Turning this off suddenly freed up both VPNs. Norton still won't work, but Pure VPN does, although it's become very flakey. So, if Android has a VPN set, and you have issues, try going into the apps and unticking the set VPN option.

Hi! Anyone have a battery problem after updating to Realme UI2.0? I did a hard reset and still the same - about 2h SoT and the battery is discharged. With the screen off, it uses about 7-8% per hour. Before the update on Android 10, it wasn't perfect, but it lasted at least twice as long. Any ideas?

Overall, the phone performs better, smoother after updating to Android 11, and without any other issues.

Another issue. My phone is now reporting that the storage is over 90% full. That's a sudden leap of 30%.

I removed all games and downloaded books, but the space taken by apps remains the same and although it should be far less full now, it isn't.

Once again, anyone have a solution? If you could please let r know if there something I can do about it, would appreciate the help.

Hello I flashed the ota file uploaded by DarkImperator. Since rui 2.0 can't be rooted and orangefoxbeta can't decrypt the data how can I restore stock rom? Do I have to downgrade to rui1.0 to be able to reinstate stock recovery.Tried flashing the f.11 file without flashing the orangefox recovery and the patched vbmeta in the hopes that it would revert back to full stock but it would not boot.I kind of want to relock the bootloader for the ota updates. Thanks

With the boot.img here, we can use magisk now? Thanks for sharing.

Other Realme UI 2.0 Devices like the Realme GT 5G can be rooted. Maybe we need to wait for an update until Realme has fixed the root issue with the X2 Pro.

Why shouldn't root work for RUI 2.0? Other devices like the Realme GT 5G, which is running RUI 2.0 as well can be rooted flawlessly.
Haven't tried it myself but you could try this to root your device:

Your bootloader neeeds to be unlocked. Try at your own risk! I'm not responsible if you brick your device. Make sure to backup all your data.

Download the patched boot.img and the vbmeta.img which you will find attached.
Then boot into fastboot mode, connect your device with your PC and enter following commands in the terminal:

fastboot.exe flash boot boot_magisk-patched.img fastboot.exe --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img fastboot reboot

Your device should boot up. Then you need to install Magisk Manager App and you should be rooted.
Flashed both of these right now, it's in bootloop. Realme has changed something inside boot image i think.
I already tried myself patching boot image with magisk (tried with canary variant too) and i got the same bootloop. So yeah.

I've had the original OnePlus phone, two BQ phones and two Xiaomi phones before deciding to move on to this phone.

And while the support from most of the other mentions for Europe wasn't supreme, what Realme pulls off here is beyond comparison. Security patches take a ridiculous amount of time to be distributed (I think the latest version is still from February?) and the whole on-and-off strategy of Realme UI 2 for the X2 Pro with the absolute abscence of communication is just absolute laughable - if it wasn't so sad. All I have to find out more about the current status of this and when to expect an update in Europe are "tech news" websites which update the same article every 2 days to stay relevant for SEO.

I have to say I'm incredibly disappointed and will certainly not buy another one of their products. I know it won't matter, but I don't feel this behaviour is justifiable in any way.

    I found this on Punikaweb

    Update 104 (May 20)

IST 05:22 pm: The Spanish branch of Realme is rolling out Realme UI 2.0 (Android 11) update for Realme 7, 7 5G, 7 Pro, X2 Pro, and X3 SuperZoom. The commencement will be completed by July end.

Good news I think as you should be able to download the update from the Spanish site.

Realme continues to release betas for lots of other models in India and I still can't even get a road map for any European releases.
I'll keep asking them until I get more than a stock email reply.

Seems like the stable update is reaching France now so it should be available for non-beta users in Europe shortly according to this link.

Further confirmation that the update is coming to Europe in June.
