Bricked device, stuck on "Firmware Update" startup screen

Hi guys.

While I was attempting to install a ROM, I pressed on Format Data and everything when bollocks. As stated in the title, Whenever I try to boot it up, it just stays on the "Firmware Update. Now waiting for any connection..." screen. I tried everything I thought of, but nothing helped at all. Of course, I know of troubleshooting next to nothing, so I hoped someone could help me out with this?

The last thing I tried was flashing the H-918 .tot with LGUP, but that didn't get me anywhere.

Same identical thing happened to me as well, I am looking for a solution, but because there is no KDZ file to restore it to factory settings, and the .Tot file doesnt work past 10% with LGUP, we are both screwed, unless we can figure out another way to solve this......

Try pressing volume down and power then releasing power for one second and repressing it while still holding volume down. Then Factory Reset it. If that doesn't work do the first steps again, but instead of doing the Factory Reset when it boots into the Factory Reset menu, hit Yes twice, in recovery just Wipe Cache, and try Factory Reset there as well after as last resort.

I've tried every button combination possible... it just sends me to that "firmware update" screen.

Looks like I'm stuck with this until someone leaks the .kdz and/or .dll files :(

Press and hold “Power button” and “Volume Down button” for several seconds until LG logo appear on the screen. When LG logo appear, release your hold on both button for one second and then press them up once again. Keep it up until the phone boot into “Recovery Mode” and when it does, you can release it once more.

Tried that. There's no recovery mode anymore it seems. Just that "firmware update" screen.

I'm still trying to figure out how to extract a .kdz from these devices I'll upload one when I figure it out. Because I was in the situation you were in. Try locking and unlocking the bootloader it's a wild try but sometimes you have to try stuff.

Hi. I've been in the same position for awhile. While looking for a new LGUP version or compatible .dll, I ran across this: http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/uppercut-lgup-loader-g5-variants-t3511295. Using Uppercut, I was able to get to 11% in LGUP before it failed. I was using LGH918AT-01-V10d-310-260-SEP-14-2016-ARB00+0.tot.

The developer of Uppercut informed me that this is because the .tot not signed, so it looks like I'm still stuck.

My understanding is that we can't use fastboot to flash the recovery partition directly because it's locked for the H918(?)

I thought I tried to relock and unlock my bootloader, but I'm going to try that again since I've nothing else to do for the time being.

Edit: No luck with the relock/unlock. Hopefully, when a signed .kdz comes out, I'll be ready.

I am in the exact same position, I tried to lgup and got to 9% failed, and I used the same thing LGH918AT-01-V10d-310-260-SEP-14-2016-ARB00+0.tot, if we only had the .dll file we could restore back to factory settings....dammit! I was also using UPPERCUT as well...

So Autoprime posted an official KDZ (Uppercut/LGUP flashable) in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/stock-h918-10i-kdz-imgs-t3522416/page1

It is version v10i. The main downside of this update is that recowvery is patched and there is no root for this version yet. I flashed it the other night and got my phone back to stock.

thanks so much my friend! I did exactly the same thing you did, and my phone is alive again, lol! Yea, I no, it isn't able to root yet, but I am sure we BOTH will be able to do it soon, thanks a million for writing me back! Oh I used Lg Bridge to factory restore my phone...

Did you not have a backup. There are multiple things you can try. Are you fixed yet?

What Things could you have Tried just for future Reference and just in case the OP has not solved it yet....
What variant do you have? Can you get into recovery? I accidentally lost my origanal backup and had to flash the h910 rom in the lg v20 roms forum. It boots with the static screen but goes away after the screen sleeps.
