Brightness dimming and lagging, before visually glitching. Won't reboot!

I have a phone that has an apparent issue, I'm very unsure if it's battery related or some other hardware.

About a month back, I had the issue where my rear camera went black and white, attempting to force it to color auto-switched it to the front. I bought a new camera for it, which solved my initial issue. A week after; my display would immediately get severe lag then autodim to it's lowest brightness, locking the phone and unlocking it temporarily fixes the issue for about another minute before it does it again. If I attempt to reboot the phone when this happens it doesn't turn back on and won't charge.

I have read many users having their phone locked in EDF mode that have the exact same issues aside from the screen autodimming like it does. I can resolve this by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. It has only happened twice, once the week after replacing the camera, and randomly it has happened again tonight. The battery upon reboot shows the same % of charge as it did when I attempted reboot.

My question; is this a dud battery, or is there a possible issue with other hardware in the phone? It has worked flawlessly for about 8 months prior to me replacing the camera without an issue. The phone is rooted, with TWRP installed, and has the latest official firmware update available -this has been on the same firmware for a few months prior to there being any issues as well.

I think the battery is poorly made,I've seen some cheap Chinese iPhone batteries mess with the touch and having random reboots, try getting another battery
