The vibrating motor on my S4 has stopped working (been about 4 years). Anyways; how can I tell what the root cause of it is? My guess is that it could be hardware (either the vibrating motor or the connection with the board) or software (however, I've changed ROMs and reset my phone a few times and nothing seems to change).
I followed this guide on disassembly . I removed the vibrator and cleaned the connections before reassembly.
Is there any diagnostic tools methods that I can use to determine what the root cause is (broken motor, faulty connections, software issue).
