[BUG] CM9/CM10 Data connectivity bug - unFIXED, it seems

I have an unlimited data plan and have had no issues so far with 3g connectivity. I never switch between 2g or 3g, just use 3g all the time.

I switch back and forth between FuZZ and Quarx (CM9), using Quarx June 9th build.
I would say I use hundreds of MB a month, don't really watch it close but I do use an app that tells me how much I used.

Thanks for the feedback scottdanpor. Do you have juice defender to disconnect data when the screen is off or toggle to 2G?

Anyone tested data on the latest feast of builds? I see there were commits by Epsylon about the IP table... could have a positive outcome?

In the last Quarxs 0906 and FuZZ 1206 data still looks the same... disconects happens.

I'm noticing that the times between downs sometimes increase... Before used to happens every few minuts and now it's happening some times after 2 even 3 hours of stable connection, normaly it goes down hourly.

I can confirm this too... only had one dropout on FuZZ+ 1206 today. Hopefully we're getting closer to perfection.

That's what i was doing to workaround this problem... but it looks like Juice made my defy reboots randonly... it stoped since i disabled Juice... now i was using ConnectionChecker to do the trick...

I never had the reboot problem. I will disable juice defender and see if I have any connection issues.

Thanks... but that probably doesn't count as data needs to be connected for a few hours before it dies. When it bombs, a data toggle fixes it

I will now eat my words.
Just ran into the problem. Phone appeared to be connected but no internet access when using Dolphin. I'd say between 3 and 4 hrs it disconnected. Well, I guess juice defender conveniently corrected the problem for me all along.

Beware of connectivity checker on edge. I've seen it toggle airplane mode when data was working, just slow.

Maybe this helps I use drei Austria. Drei has it's own 3G network but uses the 2G network from A1. I have exactly one time data connection when start the phone. So the error occurs everytime the connection changes from virtual to normal.

What I didn't unterstand is, when I use the connection checker and it lost the network connection, the telephone toggles to the airplane mode, BUT I have to enter the SIM pin, otherwise I am completly offline (telephone calls & network).

Yes I have noticed that too few times..but I get the same behavior in logcat, so I don't think it's the case.... Maybe just a bad day to my network indeed...

I don't use any PIN but I suppose if you disconnect from the network and reconnect, which is what happens when airplane mode is set on and off again, you would have to enter your PIN again if its enabled, as you are re-registering on the network. Maybe you can remove your SIM PIN and use a lockscreen PIN instead?

Remember that only the data portion is not active when flight mode is toggled, GSM is still connected.

My phone is not getting deep sleep for some reason, and since this happens my data don't disconnected even one time...

Today it was running for 4 hours rock stable... that's a world record to my defy with CM9...

Based on this, i'm pretty sure that connection problem has direct relation with deep sleep mode...

Maybe is there any way to comprove this with other users... could be a light to our problem!

That's very interesting. Which build are you on?

I've been on Epsylon3 130612+ build all day and have had no dropouts so far. I've seen the indicators go grey but then restore to blue within seconds.

I'm in FuZZ 1206...

Now i have changed governor from "ondemand" to "boosted" and SIO, and now it's getting to deep sleep again... i'll keep monitoring to see how data behaves...

There it is... as soon as my defy come back deep sleeping, the data problem returns... 40 minuts and the connection is dead...

I'll try "Wake my Android Pro" to see if i get better results....
