OK, it does work!
I tested the bypass feature with a power meter, enabling and disabling the option in an alternating fashion. After disabling the bypass option, it takes about 1 second for the power meter reading to abruptly go up. After enabling the bypass option, it takes about 7 seconds for the power meter reading to abruptly go down.
Bypass disabled while playing a game: 19 W
Bypass enabled while playing a game: 6 W
When it's working, notification panel would just say, "Charging", without "xx minutes until full." The battery indicator would still have a charging sign, but I guess it's just telling you that a charger is connected.
Power adaptor needs to support both PD and PPS.
