I decided to create this tutorial for C6943 owners. The kernel for C690X version is conflicting the Digital TV.

For the curious, I tell how simple it was to create the specific kernel: I downloaded the Firmware from XperiFirm and created a Bundle in Androxyde Flashtools (Tools / Bundle / Create-selecting just the kernel from the downloaded firmware)

Follows:

FOR THOSE IN VERSION BELOW 14.4.A.157:

1. You need to upgrade to version 157 via OTA or with help from the app 'Sony PC Companion'

2. Then follow the steps below to recover your root and keep your Digital TV working.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE ALREADY IN VERSION 14.4.A.157

3. Download the latest version of Androxyde Flashtools, install the drivers that came with it (make sure it is OK on the program: DEVICES / CHECK DRIVERS before continue.

4. Download the Kernel 108 for C690X and also the Kernel 157 C6943 (place both in the Flashtools\firmwares folder without unpacking)

5. Download the root script (click on SMALLER BLACK DOWNLOAD BUTTON) and a recovery for the 'locked bootloader'

6. Check if the phone is on version 157 and turn off the phone.

7. Open Flashtools, click the 'lightning bolt' icon and select the firmware 108. Click FLASH and plug the phone on computer holding the volume down.

8. In just a few seconds the app warns you that the procedure is finished and it will tell you to restart, do it.

9. On About, see that you still are on the 157 version, but with an old kernel June / 2014. Check out on options if 'USB Debugg' and 'Unknown Applications' are enabled. Apply Root (steps).

10. Turn off the phone after root is properly installed and repeat step 7 with 157 specific firmware for C6943. When done, restart and see if the kernel is 3.4.0 (09 / Oct / 14).

11. Everything OK, enjoy your Digital TV.

12. If you want, install dualboot recovery on Flashtools (steps).

OBS: I'm not responsable for any damage bla bla bla...

7. Abra o Flashtools, clique no ícone de raio e escolha a firmware 108. Clique em FLASH e plugue o celular no computador segurando o volume pra baixo.

junior, the firmware .157 have been already officially released for the c6943 with DTV? or is just a version for the c6903 with the c6943 kernel ? i already checked the xperiafirm and the flashtool but i'm not totaly sure, and there is not a DEODEX patch to the c6943 .157 ??? i already follow this guide to create the FTF file for the C6943 of the .157 http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/08/1...re-files-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool-guide/ But i don't know if this guide is right, and without deodex and almost no one talking about this version on the c6943 scene i'm afraid to flash it, i'm waiting for an answer :D thanks

ahh ok, you mean that you update your rom to the .157 oficial version specifically for the c6943 via OTA and have the DTV and everything else , i think i'm gonna create a threat compiling the tutorials for the c6943 and try to create a deodex patch to our model too with this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2725930 cause we almost don't have nothing of .157 for our model:fingers-crossed:

yeap, it was the official 157 version updated via ota. everything working great, dtv included.
The problem was that I lost my root on this update, and when I downgraded the kernel to version 108 and applied root, I needed to flash 157 kernel over the 108 rooted and the dtv didn't work because the 157-kernelonly.ftf was for c6903.
This thread is just to share the correct 157-kernelonly for our c6943..
;)

Thanks!!!!

Man. Realy Thanks!!

Obrigado novamente.
Sucesso pra você.

The link has always been broken. @[NUT] requests people not to link directly to his files, but to his site where you can get the newest recoveries. You'd get a screen saying you shouldn't make direct links before, and now that the site was remade the link just doesn't work. Just go to the thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261606 or straight to the site at http://nut.xperia-files.com/
You want Z1-lockeddualrecovery[VERSION]-BETA.flashable.zip inside the XZDualRecovery folder.

Please keep the topic in English. This is an international forum, and our C6943 isn't restricted to Brazil: it is sold on other Latin American countries that adopted our SBTVD digital TV system.

I'm working on a new link protection system, which should work a little better. Sorry for the hassle, I didn't realize many browser extensions and even the tapatalk/xda app break my current system.
