hi all,

i noticed a call recording function available in the menu of the dialer.
By default it is grayed. when the call connects it turns black. i tried it but didn't
know if it is functional and where does it save the recordings.

Anyone built an experience with this?

cheers,

It doesnt work in my D2. I click Start Recording from the Dialer Menu, but nothing is being saved..

I had the same problem dude...drove me crazy for a while but dont ask how i got it working, simply by trying few times (more than once ) and it worked

nb: note that the "note" folder where the recordered conversation did not exist when it did not work

give it a go...and by the way the sound is so clear!!!!

So is the 2_Way_Plus_InCall_Recording.cab going to work if I have that official HTC hotfix installed? Thank you.

The program works perfectly.
Looking for a solution to the program that starts automatically, and the memory card to save. If they are happy to be operated!

Can someone take a screenshot of the dialer menu with the added record function? I installed the cab but can't find the record function anywhere. Maybe because my Diamond2 is Dutch I'm just looking at the wrong place/menu or looking for the wrong word (maybe it's translated). With a screenshot it's much easier to locate the function if it even exists on my phone. Tnx in advance!

Hi,
I've installled this and it took a few minutes to find where the record button was. While you are in the call, click on 'Notes' and from there, you should see a Red Record dot in the bottom left corner. Thats where mine is anyways.

The calls get recorder in Device\My Documents\Calls

I'll try and find a way to move this to the SD card... will post back if I find out how... possible a reg key somewhere.

Ok, I've done some testing and here's what I've found. Note: I'm using SPB Mobile v3.1

You can use voice recording during any call, by going in to 'Notes' while you are on the call. Once you are in Notes, you should see a record button in the bottom left corner. If not, you can enable to it by clicking Menu | View Recording Tool Bar. Click the red button to start recording. You stop recording by closing the Notes.

Without this utility, you will only hear your own voice, maybe you'll hear the other person but it will be faint. So installing this utility makes yourself and the other person sound very clear. Recording of phone calls should be available on the TD2 out of the box even without this utility, but this utility makes both voices sound clear.

The other question was about storing the recording on the SD card. To set this, click on Start | Notes. Once you are in Notes, click on Menu | Options and set the 'Save to' to be Storage Card. This should now save recordings to Storage Card\Calls. Nake sure you leave 'Record button action:' set to 'Switch to Notes' or you'll run into troubles where you cant get Notes to open any more.

One last thing... if you dont see 'Notes' in the Start menu, you can enable it by going Start | Settings | Menus and enabling Notes there.

This is how I've got things working, hopefully that helps some others out there. If you know of a better way of doing things, or maybe this utility works better outside of SPB Mobile, please post your findings.

Cheers,
D.

Now that the card has already been recorded, there is only one thing missing. It can not be set to automatically solve all the recording?

call recording

The cab provided here works excellent. Thanks for the tips on how to get it going. I didn't install the hotfix because on the htc website it says it's not to enable call recording but to remove the call recording button. Doesn't sound like what I or anyone else wants.
Using touchflo.

Found the record option and it works great! So if you don't install this cab you won't be able to enable the Recording Tool Bar in the Notes menu?

The only problem I have is that my ear touches the touchscreen in a call so that the announcement screen comes up (you also get this screen when you press the black bar on top with the icons for signal quality, battery status, volume, etc.). This means that a started recording will stop and you will notice it only when you end the call which is very annoying because most of the call isn't recorded.

Do you guys also have this problem or is there maybe a way to "lock" the screen while in a call so that you don't accidentally press the screen with your ear?

Personally, I use Vito Audio Notes Touch. Excellent interface, and lots of features, including a "Call Autorecord" option. It can also be used to record things other than telephone conversation.

Of course, the cab must first be applied for proper telephone conversation recordings.

wich rom version?

i used to be able to record calls, but recentely i have updated the ROM to 6.5 and Voila it disapeared even after installing the Cab. i installed quite few ROM but no luck. i don't remember wich rom i used to be able to do this on, flashed the official but no luck.

can someone that has this option showing on the menu tell me wich rom they are using. the idea is find out wich dialer has that and see if someone can port that dialer to 6.5, even with the old menu version.

thanks, i really need that voice recording option
