Try this: in setting just disable all front cam Hdr+ & portrait mode coz it isn't working on my front cam (hang & push to restart), only working for rear one
in setting also enable fix black level offset (to prevent your portrait photos become red or pink)

Now working but photo is not good.

I maked three photo with three software Camera.

This Camera: photo 3.08 MB,

Stock Camera: 4.81 MB

Snap Camera HDR 8.8.0: 14 MB.

The jpeg size is not relevant. Snap camera uses no compression for example. You should try shooting some comparison photos in high contrast situation, like in a room, shooting a window outside. The differences are pretty big...

I'v shoot three photo on the same place. The difference is seen with the eye.

Are you sure HDR+ is working? It should be pretty obvious in results...

Yes, disable it for front camera. But for back camera should still be working

size 4mb JPEG Quality (superfine default)
Big size JPEG Quality (best and enable sarpness).

EDIT
Boys record video 720p with 120fps .Go to video settings and set :
Video Quality 720p
Video codec MPEG4
Use HFR Frame rate " V "
