Can someone please confirm absolutely yes or no. Are you saying this mod lets the s4 record actual 4k video? Yes or No?
If yes what versions will record 4k? What about the s4 active?

This MOD will not work on Galaxy s4 and Galaxy s4 Active, they have SnapDragon 600! I have the Galaxy S4 (i9506) with the SnapDragon 800

i have made an spanish tutorial how to install your MOD in our S4(i9506) over 3900 members have seen it and really apreciate your work
There are many that told me that they have tryed your MOD, and made several comparisions, and the say that the 4K unlimited quality is perfect and the sound quality from 128kbps to 256kbps is just insane but they still do not see much difference increasing the bitrate in the 1080 60fps/30fps and the comsume of MB is too high, for the not better video quality:silly:.
So there are about 25 members asking me if it could be posible to get the same MOD you sent me yesterday with
STOCK 1080p 60fps "28Mb/s" / 30fps "17Mb/s"
The 4K unlimited 50Mb/s + 256kbps on all video Modes are perfect for all

I am going to strap a note 3 to an airplane and do a rocket and get some arial 4k video (just scored a slightly dented missing a home button but 100% working Note 3 for $200 hehe oh yeah going to have fun with this.

Is it running 4.3 or 4.4.2? On 4.4.2 the 4gb limit can't be bypassed yet.

Works now fine but the reason for failure was that I misunderstood the description. I thought the instructions listed under the 4.3 section are for jb user only, and the dl link under 4.4.2 section to the apk is ready to use after unzip and put it into the /system /app folder.

After testing I found out that I had run the original camera, nevertheless of rename the original , set perm to new and reboot. No improvements found in menu. So I killed the current camera process, wiped cache etc. Now new camera (the replacement) wasn't found in apps menu. Clicking on the apk in system folder results in parsing error. Btw the original camera in Heisenberg Rom is named "Camera2.apk" anyway rename the new to Camera2 or SamsungCamera2.apk doesn't do the trick.

Camera Mod with 96 mbs

I made my own camera mod with a UHD 96 mbs bit rate and 256 Kbs audio.
Unfortunately, the recording video size is still limited to 4 GB.

Credits: most of the information I needed to make my own modded app were found in this thread.




Here are my observations about the video quality of the Note 3:
- the upgrade to 4.4.2 has increased the video quality
- each individual frame of the video is as good (or as bad) as single photograph
- I don't see compressions artifacts (e.g water color effect on grass and leaves)
- the videos I recorded look sharper than video samples recorded from a Panasonic GH4 (downloaded from a page of the German video aktiv magazine- url removed )
- the videos I recorded look slightly sharper that the movie Timescapes (UHD USB stick edition, about 95 mbs, url removed)
- in low light situations, there is noise but the video still looks OK, IMO. I haven't compared my videos to other low light UHD videos.


I have made only one comparison between the stock camera app with 48 mbs and the modded with 96 mbs. The two videos were taken in a wood with plenty of sunlight and almost no moving objects. I did not see a difference in picture quality. I have not tested if having more moving objects or if a low light condition would differentiate the two video bit rates. On the other hand , a 10 mbs recording of the same scene looks really bad.


Testing procedure: pause the video in the video player, zoom to 1:1 I am using a 27 inch monitor with a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels.
