its okay for capturing photos but for videos its not good. phone overheat so much and also battery drain while recording is very high. not efficient for video recording.
But to be fair, phones are not built for longer 4K and 8K video recording. The iPhone 12 series got overheating problems too.Even the big DSLRs are heating up enormously and got some heat problems in heavy use.

Yes, I know my friend, i had many phones and I have DSLR. But this is "Overheat". I test 2 phone S21U and Note 10 Plus in the same room, with just opening camera application and wait 5 - 10 minutes, the Note 10 Plus is hot just 43 degrees but S21U cant reached 10 minutes, it forced close bu software and when you touch the phone it is very, very, very, hot. If I hold the Note 10 Plus, I even cant feel the hot. It is not the problem that phone go very hot the problem is you can use camera app.

If I use any other things in camera like video recording, slowmotionu, talking portrait photos and etc... it will go hot much more and much faster.

Please, if you dont believe me you have many post on Redit or Samsung official forum and many others.

I don't want to ruined this post on XDA. Just please if someone have the same problem and if the problem "go away" after some new update, please let me know. How I say I want to buy again but many of them is complaining about Overheating in camera an multitasking. And im scared to buy S21U because in my contry is very hard to return it.

So, still is worth buying S21U? Or waiting M11 Ultra?

P50 Pro ia not possible to buy...
I would recommend waiting if you can. I am in the same boat and see many good deals on ebay but not sure if I should buy again or not because I came across this article.

Looks like this new sensor has a much larger pixel size. I expect images to be much sharper and clearer than the slightly noisy images on the S21U with its 0.8um pixel size. Plus it will have the Snapdragon Image Signal Processor which is arguably bettter. Not sure about xiaomis software though. The last xiaomi I had was the mi3 ages ago and that was pretty good for its time.

For a phone camera, the amount of creativity on offer is amazing. I cannot wait till lockdown is over and I can try this camera on subjects more interesting than a leaking kitchen tap :).

Samsung should however 100% give use us the use of the x3 optical lens in 'Pro' mode with manual focus. I do wish the 'remote' take feature of the S pen worked for it. You could than mount this on a tripod, and snap away without breaking your back :).

they don't want because all modders could create the perfect GCAM mod and nobody will by the S22 Ultra :giggle:

Great click. I know what you mean. The remote clicking function is something I really missed vs my note 9. But to be fair I think you can buy a cheap Bluetooth remote shutter on ebay. I remember getting one of these free with a selfie stick.

Xiaomi mi11 ultra. It will have a new Samsung sensor with 1.4um pixel size much bigger than the current 0.8um

Xiaomi seems to be the testers for Samsung's new sensors. They also got the HMX 108mp sensor first before Samsung refined it into the HM1 of the S20U. Guessing the Note 21U or S22U will have the updated version of the GN2 that's going to Xiaomi.

Tack sharp pics in good light at a beautifullest scenery...I do not see much difference(on the two ship pics something went wrong, didn`t choose the 10x I guess )I tried to look at the two similar pics(the fence)Even there not much difference(in one there is an additional light in the yard). The skies look not so over processed in the SD version?! For me both of them got a painted look, which I hated first, which I start to like after 2 weeks...LOL Mine is going back with a sigh as I do not like the low light video performance.Nothing wrong with the pics and very versatile.Aloha! I envy the warm place you are at.

Some of them were shot in Tasmania - Exynos and the others in Melbourne , Australia, it's summer here :)

I know a few in here didn't believe me that I had the two models for some reason earlier in this thread so thought I'd offer samples. Unfortunately I only had both at the same time for one day so didn't get a real good comparison in the same conditions but it gives you an idea. The details are slightly better on the Snapdragon and the white balance is better on the Exynos in my opinion.

i just wonder to choose 108mp or full or 3:4 for long term saving picture memory
from my testing 108mp give very large picture with high resolution... any pro tips?

In low light indoor situations, I always prefer normal 3:4 mode. But during daytime for landscapes 108MP is the best.

I have made a petition so we Exynos users have RAW on all the cameras, not just the main and ultra wide ones. The telephoto cameras are not available in Pro mode.

    Petition : http://chng.it/YVk72yhDYD

You can reply to this forum too : https://forum.developer.samsung.com...all-cameras-on-the-s21-s21-ultra-exynos/12549

    My 2 cents:
I have signed this petition, moreover, I have published a post in Samsung Community Forum Spain asking for RAW support and also attaching the link to this change.org petition.

You are very welcome, but really there is nothing to thank me for, as this is in my best interest as well ;)

Amazing pics! I love this camera.
I'm not a photographer, but I love taking pics.
There are lots of flowers where I live, so I'm lucky. I'll post some more later.

Btw guys you can submit these pictures to Samsung through the members app along with the logs the members app generates. They really look into it it seems. I sent the picture I posted above with the noise in the restaurant and they did reply asking for logs as they need to send those to their engineers. We should do this with photos that are off or look bad as it helps them make improvements. To me this is a really positive sign that Samsung are actually listening

Fake bokeh on the x 3 optical lens is delivering really good results.

Foggy yesterday morning. Full auto, exynos, last firmware AUB9.
BTW. First photo little postproduced in lightroom mobile. Added vignette, more vibrant and punched whites and shadows, just all, the rest is stock.

I don't play with post processing much these days, but AD Photoshop/LR on the mobile is surprisingly good, this is going to be printed to acrylic plate at somepoint.

The dynamic range of the S21U really is quite something, even jpgs allows for post processing to the exact temperature 'look' you want.

The depth and general tone of pictures the S21 U is able to capture really did use to be only possible on 'proper' camera systems, even the x10 lens produces half decent efforts in post.

Add in the fact the entire work flow is possible on the phone, so no peeking on the back of a LCD camera screen, no faff with uploading to a laptop, no LR library to manage, no need to worry about backup due to the cloud, am pretty sure I can also send these file direct to Photobox/Snapfish or similar for large format printing all from the phone.......

From a purely a photography point of view, the S21 U is outstanding, there is no other way to put it.

    I'm loving this camera now
S21 Ultra with March update AUB7 (Snapdragon)
    12
Hi all, I would like to share my experience. My wife has a 12 pro Max and I have the 21 ultra. I came from the 12 pro Max. I have the Exynos version. AUB9 version. I've been testing both phones from the last month against each other in many several conditions. I'm an amateur photographer form many years. Being short, I can state two main differences between two phones. Overall image quality is better, more detailed, on the s21 ultra (night mode and day light). The 12 pro max is more consistent on results. Each one of the phones has its own computational photo algorithms, for me I prefer the s21 ultra dynamic range, but this is something personal. The 12 pro max is a point and shot camera, most of the time you get really good results, good pictures. The 21 ultra is not, you need to understand a few photography basics to take all the advantage of the 21 ultra, and here is were it surpasses the 12 pro max, the flexibility you can get with the camera setup. In other words, you can take your creativity more further with the 21 ultra. From what I´ve been reading along this weeks about people comparing this two phones , and about being frustrated not getting the same images they get on the iPhone. They are two different worlds. You need to learn how to use the 21 ultra to achieve all his photo potential. With the 12 pro max you just don't need. You get good pictures right out of the box. For my personal use, the 12 pro mas was more boring to use as a camera. I do prefer the creative way.
On a personal note, the Huawei cameras are the best I've tested. I had all of them until the p40 pro plus. What a phone! I was able to capture the Milky Way on a light polluted sky. I miss the monochrome sensor on the P9.
About DXO mark, the tests I've made, not in studio, only in real life conditions, don't align with the ones they made. I'm quite sure the phone they test are still on a previous firmware. And it is a shame if they didn't take in account the firmware update.
Here is a regular simple picture taken with the 21 ultra that the 12 pro max can't do. The 12 pro max just blow away the sun, even reducing the exposure.
