Oh wow dude im on aosp and yeah GCam shows 60fps option but the output is always 30 fps, and in low lights it even fails to keep that up.
so what ro are you using and what other tricks did you use to achieve that?! 90 fps 1080p wtf?!

Its stock cam not gcam.
The whole point is that gcam cant do 60fps in zuk z2.
And stock cam can do 60/90 fps easily in many custom roms.
Just use a rom in which camera2.api is not activated and use snapdragon or snap camera.
No magic boy...........

i rolled back to zui to test this. i dont have camera2api anymore, but i am still unable to shoot 60 fps. shooting 60fps with this device is OBVIOUSLY not the norm, so why not just list what he did to achieve that?!

Im now in stock rom with cam2.api enabled.
Since only stock gives uninterrupted 4g in my area.
Ok the way I got 60 fps,:
Installed H2OS oreo.
By default cam2.api is not enabled in that rom.
Installed snapdragon camera.
Set high frame recording to 60/90.
Resolution 1080p.
Stabilisation off.
Record video.
A working snap.apk link is available in this thread.
If you cant find it then let me know...

finally. was that hard?! the only variable here seems to be the snapdragon camera app so i installed it.
Yes it does shoot or at least trying to shoot 60fps (mostly 50), and any higher than that is simply software based and isnt worth trying.

which stock rom are you using? oreo or nougat? and how did you enabled c2api? hal1 apps like stock camera works together with c2api apps? please provide details.
Also I left a link for a app which can record upto 120fps at 720p. It works on almost all the roms I tried.

C2.api is enabled by default Gcam is the default camera. And zui camera is dead.
But hal1 camera apps works- imo, whatsapp etc
Im using it with zui dialer and Messages app. (Not a google apps fan).

3Workaround
Since nobody responds this is what Im currently doing as a workaround.
Im in H2O oreo build.
There is afterflash patch for this build.
In that patch there are 2 camera.msm8996.so files.
One for stock and one for gcam.
If you replace stock vendor/lib/hw/camera.msmxxxx.so with gcam .so file then camera2.api works and vice versa.
And reboot not required.
A root explorer is only needed.
Atleast, by a file replace we can switch.1Please devs @MR.HACKER5476 @davidevinavil @kubersharma @Rodrigo Rodrigues @devabhi @narshi shukla @optimumpro can anyone point look into this matter? This is a really need for Zuk Z2 and I hope you devs can fix this small but weird issue!1

60fps with gcam working is so ignored in this forum. I individually asked many devs for this in their rom threads but no one responds.
I know its is not easy but at least a reply from a dev is enough.1
Even I have PMed devs like kubersharma but I didn't get much of a response. Kuber is busy with ArrowOS offlately as he is in the development team.. let's see if some dev comes to help . @optimumpro can you figure this? Cause it works on stock ROM and some custom roms with old camera api1..
