Can 'double tap to wake screen' work if downgrading to EMUI 9.1 whereby bootloader can be unlocked? Then one can modify the system settings to allow double tap.. Is this possible?

I don't use tap to wake, so not sure.

I read that you can maybe edit build.prop and emui config to allow it, but I haven't tested it... I did check the emui config file, which exists, but when I checked the build.prop file the easywakeup line isn't there... not sure if manually adding it would make it work, but it might?

I use the built in option called "wake device" when I pick up the phone.

But in order to edit the build.prop you need to root only if youre on emui 9/9.1, is this correct? I'm on emui 12.

Or did you use ADB to edit the build.prop?

I'm not 100% sure I understand your question.

I've only used emu9, not emui12 so I'm not sure what's possible with emui 12.

I've read that you can get "pseudo" bootloader unlocked on emui 12 by using some online services, but I'd never use those so no idea.

When I did modify my build.prop on emui9 (to enable VoLTE on AT&T) I did need root access to remount the /system partition as read/write.

Did that answer your question?

I'll look into this pseudo unlock method if its possible to do.

Out of curiosity, would you check in your build.prop to see if it's possible to disable the "network location" notification? And to disable auto brightness at start up? And to imrporove battery life?

Looking forward to your response
