No, you don't need to unlock the bootloader, but you will need an unlock code from T-Mobile

Is there anyway else to unlock? Or i have to contact T-Mobile to get the code, i got this Flip from my uncle's friend, now he's abroad.

There's loads of unlock codes on eBay for a reasonable price, as long as it's not locked under some kind of T-Mobile contract they should work.

Bump! I need sim unlock I canceled my t-mobile account and can't call them anymore. If the unlock code can come from an ebay seller, what is the method they are using? I want to do it myself.
