Hello
I bought HTC U11 6/128 but it's look like it's not for my region. I am from Europe and my HTC U11 6/128 dual sim version have 060 CID which is for India.

I would like to change software, and have option to change language to Polish. But is it possible without losing warranty?

I didn't have any HTC device before so I am not really into it. Unlocking bootloader, root was very easy on my previous smartphones: OnePlus, older samsung without knox etc.

You must root and s-off to do as you require. The process is simple but it costs $25 for s-off.

Unlock bootloader,
Flash twrp,
Flash root,
S-off via sunshine for $25,
Change cid and mid to the region you require via htc_fastboot.exe.
Get firmware zip of said region, rename and flash to phone from external sd.

Do not relock bootloader, do not s-on. Nothing bad happens, it's just not necessary.

Stock and custom ROMs for 6/128 version are different from those for 4/64? I mean I can't use ROMs for 4/64?

Thank you a lot. Indeed, It's working without root. I had to install android sdk tools, drivers and set permission for this app through adb.

Changing region from Latin America to Australia

Hello, this is my first post here, as I'm a noob about rooting or flashing phones, so please forgive any errors on terminology.

I purchased a sim unlocked HTC U11 from Kogan (yes, I know, foolish of me), but from all my research it appears to be "branded" to Claro, or "region locked". My carrier is Amaysim.

The main issue I have is that I cannot turn on my mobile data, although the phone works in all other ways. The other issue, a minor one, is that the only system languages allowed are US English, Spanish or Portugese.

I have been doing a lot of research, but am not finding it particularly easy to work out what I need to do to change the region. As I lack experience, I'm a little hesitant to root it, but if that is the only way I can change the region, access mobile data, and be able to upgrade, then I'm willing to try. I would be happy with stock Android.

From what I've read, that means I'll have to change the CID, which is currently HTC_332, and that will include having it S-OFF, and using sunshine and the like. Before I went down that road, I thought I would ask if there is any other way for me to change the region lock and/or access mobile data.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT OK, I sorted it out by rooting the phone, getting S-OFF through Sunshine and changing CID, then flashing stock ROM. My thanks to all at XDA for the great tutorials.
