Can I do this?

So I just bought a streak 7.

I have AT&T and bought the thing outright without a tmobile contract.

The question I have is since it's locked, can I stick a inactive tmobile sim card in it to get it unlocked to where I can use the wifi or does the sim card need to be activated.

If it does is there any other work around at this time.

I realize I should have asked this before I bought it but I wanted to have it in time for a trip if it did work, and figured if it doesn't I'll just return it and wait till someones unlocked it.

no need for the sim card. I bought mine out right and am currently running it without a sim and using wifi. Have fun with it. Just be warned the battery is sub-par. If you can look past that its actually a great device.

Yeah I didn't realize I didnt have the screen unlocked. After I did that it started the dell intro stuff. Been using windows mobile 6 device for 5 years now....guess I'm a noob again lol.
