Can I Recover From this Hard Brick?

Hey folks. Hello from Canada.
I recently got this phone (b2017g), and decided to check if there were any updates. I downloaded this package, unziped the file, and put the update zip on my SD. I used the built in feature in android to update it. It did some stuff, rebooted, and showed a update progress bar. It got to 81% before the screen shut off. I left it for a couple minutes, then tried to turn it back on again. The screen wont turn on. It now shows as QDLoader 9008 as a COM port on my computer. I can't get it into recovery or anything. I never enabled OEM unlock, although USB debugging was enabled from before. I've tried a couple tools here, like tuliptool, although it just says it failed to send programmer, presumably because the bootloader is still locked. Does anybody know anything I could try to get it working again?

Have you tried putting the phone in edl?

well......I do think we can brick it. be careful.

phone comes with android 6
upgrade to android 7
tulip tool to install twrp. root. all done. all good but...lost my IMEI.
then re-flash android 6, stock.
lost recovery (overiden by stock). lost OS (aboot7 cannot boot android 6)

because I knew I was about to lose twrp, I tried to re-flash itself from the twrp before the first boot. done.

complete Fu.....CK up......what an idiot I am.

any suggestion for revive the phone?
or can I just bin it?
