Can i use mi 8 pro global rom for flashing Explorer

I just bought an Explorer in Chineese Rom. Can i make it global?

If yes can you point me to a step by step how to guide? Thanks

I think you can't.
Because Mi 8 Explorer Edition have a different codename and called "ursa", but I think Mi 8 Pro and 8 UD (named "屏幕指纹版" in China) can flash each other (when unlocked bootloader), they have the same codename called "equuleus".

Yes you can, i just trying on my ursa last week.

The step (Must Unlocked Bootloader):
1. Download FASTBOOT rom Global Stable/Dev for Mi 8 Pro (Equuleus) (.tgz)
2. Rename file to .zip and extract
3. Edit Flash_Bat.all (line 1 and 2 replace equuleus with ursa) with notepad/notepad++
4. Open Mi Flash and boot your into fastboot mode
5. Plug the usb cable on your pc/laptop
6. Choice Flash and Clean All on under and ready to flashing
7. Click flash and wait until finish
8. Done your ursa will automatically reboot into system with new codename: equuleus and Global ROM!

(Note: On this rom you can't install twrp permanently and can't flash magisk for root, this rom only pure miui rom. I don't know on new update global rom v.10 equuleus, I'm not yet trying)

May well not provide support for the 3d face unlock - as this feature is not available on the Mi 8 Pro - I have done the flashing the other way around - Mi 8 explorer ROM on Mi 8 Pro - everything running fine for 2 and a half months.

OTA is work fine, you just flash downloaded rom via updater/twrp.

If you following right step renaming, you will never get error "miss match image". Read carefully
