I don't understand the question? You mean like an OTG cable? If so just plug it in? I don't think anything works without a powered USB hub though. Maybe I just don't understand the question :\How do I check if a usb device is recognised by my kindle?

It is bt dongle which does not have a light on it even when pugged into the computer, so was looking for a command "lsusb" which would show my usb devices so i know that they are getting read properly by the kindle. So if i had a powered hub, i would still have the same problem. lsusb works great, the reason i am asking is because im in the process of makin a micro usb powered adapter that is small, instead of using a powered hub.try a powered hub
