I'm glad this worked, because holy hell.... getting any Google app to work reliably without either an instant shutdown, or missing alerts or or or was driving me nuts.

The phone works SO much better already. I really do feel bad for Chinese users.

Which rom version?? Any instructions step by step? Can get past bootloader unlock due to OEM Unlock being greyed out. Any thoughts on that?

Rename the RetEU to the RetCN name
Move the renamed RetEU to ProgramData\LMSA\Download\RomFiles

Can get past bootloader unlock due to OEM Unlock being greyed out. Any thoughts on that?

Try factory reset, then connect to wifi/lte, there can be a time delay upto 3 days.

I've put on Magisk and tried flashing the patched boot file. Google pay still won't budge and when I check safety net within Magisk, it gives some errors about basic integrity and such. Not sure what I need to do to get Google Pay working.

Edit: Even my work email etc can't sign in because it's saying the device is rooted. Crap.
Further edit: I just went and bricked my device. With the retail ROM on the device, I went to adb and locked the device. Rebooted and phone threw up message saying no OS present. Now, I can't even unlock since the USB debugging option is not checked and adb is asking for that to be done first. A whole other can of worms now to sort through.
Even further edit: Ok, kicking myself for being so stupid now. The phone is not being detected by the Rescue and Smart Assitant program. Also tried RSD lite but even there it doesn't show up in fastboot. Any adb command i try is giving an error, except getvar all, which tells me that it is communicating but something is messed up which isn't allowing me to run any other commands.

Any help would be appreciated. Otherwise, I'll need to write it off as a few hundred dollars down the drain.

Nope. Tried the tools suggested by Electimon but to no avail. Phone is not responding to anything at all. Pretty much considering it a write-off at this stage, unless there's some miracle tool that can wipe the phone to factory state and let me install whatever. It's unfortunate even though these things are tiny computers but how unlike PCs they behave when it comes to being open about operating systems and the ability to do whatever.

Are the moto g 100 and edge S the exact same device with only a different ROM? So once the RETEU rom is flashed on a moto edge S, it's pretty much the same as a moto G 100 right? Just want to make sure since the Edge S is available where I am via aliexpress but not the Moto G 100.

If I rescue with the original ROM. It works, but not for APAC.

Yes. At first I unlocked BL and flashed my phone by fastboot successfully. But it stuck at boot loop.

Hi, I got the Edge S from aliexpress and the bootloader was already unlocked and I am trying to flash the EU version of the ROM. When the phone is connected in fastboot, I can't download the RetCN version from LMAS before changing the rom file, I have this message when I try to read the device before the download. I also tried changing the usb cable and port for a 2.0, but it didn't work.
