I was wondering that this device had a new gen soc sd617 so can it play HEVC in HW mode in MX player

According to Wikipedia, it should be able to play hevc.

At what resolution? 4K?

(yes I know G4 doesn't have 4K screen, but just in case the source files is 4K...)
