Can you modify an AW 2.0 ROM to bring back the crown double click functionality?

One of the features I missed most in AW 2.0 was the crown button double click. Ok, I also couldn't use "Ok Google" but I guess I would have eventually solved that, but the double click (and even triple click for max brightness) funtionality cannot be just activated by a user.

Some time before AW 1.5 the Theater Mode even persisted through single clicks and was only cancelled by another double click, I liked that even more, but alas, I got used to AW 1.5 functions. Swiping and clicking three times to activate Theater Mode is something I cannot accept, though.

Is it actually possible to add that feature in AW 2.0 (maybe copy the relevant functions from AW 1.5)? I don't know squat about ROM programming, sorry.

They removed the feature in favor of the menu because all new watches use the crown to navigate, but the old watches don't have a rotatable crown and they don't care. The functionality can't be brought back in the stock ROM, if someone makes a custom ROM, I think it would be possible, but that's it. Just hopes.
