I tried that and does not work.
I also tried another code where I go to RAT selection and I choose as network mode the GSM/WCDMA/LTE
and I see "success" but at the end I still dont have the option enabled

Update WTF

Out of nowhere i suddenly got a update being offered.. i thought it was some sort of security update but things were fishy. The odd thing is its the V20B update I installed months ago via LG Bridge.

LG Bridge even says there is no update as well.

Any idea on this???

Edit: Still does it after full reset :(

Same is happening on my phone. This update has security patch from March 2017. And some improvements for lcd. I am getting error installing this. Is anybody able to install this update?

Once it fails to install go RIGHT in and disable update checking... that is all you can do for now.

I can confirm same error on mine. Seems to be a push for an update that was already installed months ago. It does not install but persists with update notifications. I'm on Sasktel, how about others? Maybe a carrier issue? Screenshot of current software below:
I'm Sasktel too and it happened on my dads and mine.. we contacted Sasktel and well not will come out of it.

2nd user account, HOW?

Guys,

I have a Fido LG G5 H831. My son asks to borrow my phone sometimes. I would like to add a guest account or a 2nd account so he can use the phone without us seeing each other's data. I don't see a user profile or avatar to access and add a 2nd account. LG chat were stumped and "promised to get back to me.

Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I think the multi-user or guest feature has been disabled on the G5. On the G3 when running stock does have the guest mode. It's really too bad the bootloader of the Canadian G5 is locked. LOS has great multi-user support.

Nevermind uppercut works fine with LG UP 1.14

Has anyone else noticed a rather severe battery fall off since installing the January Security update patch?

Almost immediately after installing my battery life turned to crap. I tried factory resetting last week and it doesn't seem to have improved things. I also have a new battery on the way just in case this one was getting old. (It's about a year old).

I don't seem to making any headway against it with the normal troubleshooting practices (BBS, GSAM, etc) to identify the source of drain.

There do seem to be some reports of battery issues with this patch on other phones - but don't see much about the G5. I just hope LG and Bell keep the support going. It was a long time between patches and no Oreo in sight anywhere it seems.

Bell - LG G5.

Battery life had been on a downhill despite replacing the battery so I don't know if it's related to the new firmware.

That being said, the new firmware seems to be more memory intensive. The phone is now closing a lot of background apps including the home screen as a result. (Which almost never happens before despite playing games occasionally). The constantly redrawing of apps negatively impacts performance and potentially also battery life.

On a slightly unrelated note, uninstalling quickmemo+ helped recover about an hour of use time for me. For those interested look up "pm uninstall". YMMV. Do at your own risk

Good to know.

Interesting - I will definitely be doing this as I never use that. There are a few other things I need to debloat as well.

Thanks!

I pm uninstalled a bunch of bloatware and also received a new battery.

Couple of things seemed to have been driving the battery drain including nextcloud and the CBC Olympics apps for some reason.

All better now though.
