Pretty sure it's a bg.png in framework or sysui...I'll have to take a look. status_bar_bg...???? Or something like that... Trans is xml but background should be png.Hey Matthew, this may sound stupid but I'm gonna ask if there's a bg image for the status bar or a code? I want it white for a theme I'm making but since I'm using it tablet ui mode there's no way of changing it's color, even with xblast tools.

I was looking for it at framework, I didn't find it yet, I got to look again and check system too. If the background is just a png then this could be helpful not just for me, but also for those with Stock ROMs. Thanks for your help!Pretty sure it's a bg.png in framework or sysui...I'll have to take a look. status_bar_bg...???? No worries...any time ur ready to start... It's pretty easy to learn and def love community contributions...Matthew thank you once again. I'm not lazy and probably do have the capabilities to do this stuff, I am just really new to android and linux. But thank you for taking your time and doing all of what you have!!
I'm curious, what are you changing? I mean, what files. Also I use Zarchiver, no compression zip files, it has never failed. What is the xml file in the zip for? When I open it, it appears to just have the name of 'the product' echoed in the top left of the browswer window.
I tried messing around with photoshop and made some actions to change the hue/sat. on all the files in both directories. But got to the point to rezip it with 7zip and noticed that my png files were twice the size of yours. I kept transparency in the images, and tried different things like interlaced/none; and even erasing the already transparent background to see if the hue/sat. process actually made it not transparent, but just appear transparent; still twice the size as yours.
Figured I must of went the wrong route to unzip/edit/rezip these pngs. Needless to say I didn't run it through zipthemer and try it, because I'd read somewhere else "Make sure its the same size as what you are replacing!!" <<That probably had nothing to do with changing soft keys though, probably was a whole background or something.
I'm sorry, probably should've quoted. Just trying to change the color of the soft keys up above a couple posts. I was trying to do it on pc using 7zip to unzip then edit, then rezip. There is a lot of options when you try to zip in 7zip.I'm curious, what are you changing? I mean, what files. Also I use Zarchiver, no compression zip files, it has never failed.
The zip files have to be with no compression(that's what I've read, could be wrong), it's the way I do it, each softkey is a 96x96 png, and if you're using Matthews softkeys as a guide, there shouldn't be any problem. Can you show us how your sofkeys looks?I'm sorry, probably should've quoted. Just trying to change the color of the soft keys up above a couple posts. Gotcha. These are 96x120 but Matthew uploaded them and they work. They're the ones from up above a couple posts, the blue ones with the reflection. The zip files have to be with no compression(that's what I've read, could be wrong), it's the way I do it, each softkey is a 96x96 png, and if you're using Matthews softkeys as a guide, there shouldn't be any problem. Dunno man, it's working fine on my end.Gotcha. These are 96x120 but Matthew uploaded them and they work. They're the ones from up above a couple posts, the blue ones with the reflection.
I'm just playing around and made them a different color. Now I don't know the exact way to zip it back up, or why my file size on each image has doubled.
The blue one is the one Matthew had it is 2.4 kB and the one I changed the color on is 4.8 kB or something like that.
Hmmm.haven't had time to look. I'll do it today ... 100% I think I have a idea...@matthew0776 I'm beginning to think that changing the status bar color on AOKP while using tablet ui mode it's not possible. I've gone through various code modifiers, got the ".9.png" type of file right, flashed it and still no luck.
