Cannot download big apps [MIUI]

Turns out that everytime I try to download an app, say around 12MB, the download fails handing me a big fat error saying there is insufficient space. Bullshit. I have lots of space (like 800MB) left of A2SD storage and the internal is around 90MB left, and A2SD fully works. I have had this error before but I do not know how I solved it.
I also know all the basic methods of trying to get this to work, but they all fail.
  • I have tried wiping market data
  • I have tried wiping market cache
  • I have tried deleting market updates
  • I have tried wiping cache and dalvik cache
  • I have tried reflashing the ROM
  • I have tried reinstalling the A2SD script and tried moving dalvik back to internal
  • I have tried searching Google for answers, but came up with nothing I haven't tried already.
  • I have tried a combination of ALL the above and ALL options together.
I dunno what's wrong but I simply can't get it to work.

I had the same problem with Evervolv ICS p8 while having 14MB free space in /system partition. I moved a few apps to /data partition giving /system a total of 20MB free space, and bingo: I could install apps again:)

But I have roughly 90MB free in my /system and roughly 90MB free in my /data and like 800MB free in my /sd-ext

what do you have your hboot cahe set to

some people have issues under 50mb

not sure it applies to MIUI
I use the ICS hboot scheme, i.e. 220 mb system, 16 mb cache and 200 mb data. I never bothered flashing another hboot as I may switch to ICS at any time, plus someone once told me that 96 mb cache (as per stock) is way too much and that 16 is more than enough. I have around 14 mb available cache and I clean it from time to time.

Also note that this problem started when I flashed MIUI. Worked perfectly to download large apps with GB/CM7/ICS/CM9.

CM7 redirects space onto data when cache too small. I don't think MIUI does that. Try at least 30mb and see.

I have both hboots in tools and only takes a minute to switch them

If the only solution is to switch hboot, then I'm going to reconsider flashing CM7, CM9 or some other build as I want to keep the hboot flashing to a minimum.

yeah, I guess I'm worrying for nothing :p

Anyways, not being able to download any big apps really isn't a huge concern seeing as I've downloaded relatively small apps thus far. i remember downloading Firefox while running ICS a "long" time ago.

Ones like Angry Birds may be an issue too--

Yeah, I wouldn't worry. I have flashed hundreds of times and coming up on two years. But, like i said, if you keep each hboot in tools, 30 seconds and your done--
