Cannot revert to MIUI from LineageOS 14

I tried recovery and fastboot ROMs with no avail.
The ROMs install and processes complete but the phone is stuck at the initial 'MI' screen and then turns itself off.
I have TWRP 3.1.1-0
When I install recovery ROMs I used the default wipe option.
I dunno anything about firmware, kernel business.
I am able to reflash LineageOS and use the phone.
