cant change baseband

hi currently i am on ddq8 but when i tried to go to ddq6 via odin the installation got aborted and i was on still on ddq8 can someone tell that cant we go to lower versions ? if yes then how as i am thinking to flash the russian firmware latest ie S5830XXKPT then will i be able to to got to ddq6 or ddq8 ??






Actually wanted to test the latest firnware of russia as people saying it faster than others. I am from india so i am scared if something went wrong with russian firmware i should be abe to come back.to ddq8 which is for india so was testing to flash ddq6 indian firmware first to ensure if something went wrong then i should be able.to come back. This is the whole story friends.

I believe the baseband can be changed in CWM, just head over to the modem collection thread and and politely ask for some magician to create a package for you. I hope that someone will be more than glad to make one to aid other users . Alternatively u can flash the target package through odin, if it isn't messed up your baseband will change. Regards.

So you need the proper firmware package

Cooper.ops is just the partition layout if im not mistaken

just tick the 'one package' option, load the one package firmware and you're good to go. I'll be glad to help further if it is necessary.

Edit: ahh got the whole thing wrong, u want to have te ddkq8 and only downgrade the baseband right? then just flash the modem file leaving the rest empty. If i'm not mistaken they had the required packade in the modem collection thread

can i flash S5830XXKPT then that ? actually i am not interested in ddq6 its just i need to make backups do that i can switch quickly between roms. so wanted to know why cant i directly switch to ddq6 we need to follow any combinations ?

I believe that CWM backup leaves the baseband alone, if i am not mistaken... You can flash any rom, then in odin any baseband over it if you wish to do so.

there is a very, i mean a VERY slim chance of anything going wrong. I'm from Poland, flashed both Indian and Russian roms and they worked well so i guess that applies to You also . See flashing is like formating and reinstalling windows or any other os on your pc. In case u don't like it or anything goes wrong u can go ahead and flash again, been there done that dozens of time believe me. Only thing that concerns me, is that your native language may or may not be included in KPT. Once you get a grip of Odin u'll be able to flash with your eyes closed

Edit: as i said, go ahead to the modem collection thread and and grab the kpt baseband, it is there i've checked it. Besides you're on CM7 right now, not on the ddq8 thingy, only thing that is left is the baseband . U can flash any other by just choosing the desired baseband (put it in the modem bracket, everything else empty) in odin. It won't make cyanogen any faster, though it CAN make conectivity better and make the battery drain less severe, but i would not bet my balls on that .

thankx anybody interested in teaching me how barebones and deodex stock rom as i love battery but like customization by other developers i want to keep it simple.
