Why is it the Razer Phone 2 Bluetooth Audio Codec is SBC as default and no matter how many times I change it'll revert to SBC over and over? I'm using Razer Hammerhead BT btw.

The RP2 doesn't contain the licenses to enable other codecs for bluetooth so that's why when you change the setting it doesn't stick.
Is your device under android pie 9?
As for me, the SBC codec only happen after android pie 9 upgrade, when I first got it under android oreo 8, it can use AAC but no more than that, was told that Razer didn't get the licenses for aptx or any other higher grade codec. Trying to find out if we even lost the AAC too on android pie, or just my device problem......
which means you couldn't get the AAC working even under oreo? that's strange......
