I cannot connect to my wlan-network with the CM6/AOSP roms. When I try it always turns from connect to scan. With earlier Version it worked, like Cronos 1.5, but 1.6 wont work. I tried with CM6 from today, Cronos 1.6 and The Froyo mod 2.1. I want one of them, but without wifi it is not acceptable.

Hm... Maybe someone can say what has changed in wifi settings since cronos 1.5 to 1.6.
The wlan network has wpa/wpa2-psk key and its a Dlink dir 615.

I can offer the following decision of this problem:
In RootExplorer(via Open in text editor) it is opened tiwlan.ini (~/etc/wifi), we search for line WiFiAdhoc=1, we change 1 on 0 and... All works, I am simple before is banal substituted tiwlan.ini from cronos, then having transversed on both for comparing have seen that in cyanogen the mode a computer-computer is included (т.е Adhoc) switch-off has brought the positive result
P.S Sorry for my English

This worked for me after changing my disk setting back to RO in Root Explorer and rebooting. Thanks!

Can I take it as confirmed that WiFiAdhoc set to 0 solves the wifi issues at least for some users?
If it is the case, I will disable it again in the next build.

(And I'd be glad to be notified about such important findings in the future, thank you very much.)

I'm not sure any more. I had cronos 1.5, tried 1.6.1, didn't work, switched to cm 11.27, didn't work, retried cronos 1.6 only go get the motorola bootloop. Reloaded the GOT SBF, put cronos 1.5 on it, setup wifi, didn't do a full wipe (only the cache's), upgraded to cronos 1.6.1 and its now working fine with ad-hoc enabled. I'm not sure if it's the Got reload that did it, or what, but it's working now. If the issue re-appears, I'll do a more thorough investigation to see if some of the other potential solutions, like deleting /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf, resolves this problem.

I tried this and it still doesn't work.. I just can't connect to my router.. I tried every settings, all types of protection, nothing works, even changing that WifiAdhoc think on 0 in Root explorer.. I'll try Cronos 1.5 if you say it works there, but I see a problem in new 2.2.1 SBF..

cronos 1.5 consistently worked for me.

Have you tried all of these? In particular, delete /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf, do a full wipe, and re-install the rom.

There are several issues open for it, you can get there some valuable information.
I'd start with the advise given here (delete /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf):
http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod4milestone/issues/detail?id=204
Also:
http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod4milestone/issues/detail?id=234
http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod4milestone/issues/detail?id=147

You can try to change the options in /etc/wifi/tiwlan.ini - HT_Enable and WiFiAdhocA

If it will turn out that the WiFiAdhoc enabled is breaking the wifi for some users (it works perfectly for me), I'll disable it again in the next build. But I have not got any clear reports on the issue tracker that would suggested it yet.

Hopefully, the wifi issues will be fixed in the final Motorola's froyo kernel build. Custom compiled tiwlan_drv.ko kernel module causes kernel panic (as the ext2, tun, cifs and nfs modules). When the Motorola's kernel sources become available, it will be easier to try some fixes in this area.

I really don't know what to say.

I've connected to WPA-TKIP, WPA2-TKIP, and unsecured Wifis day after day. I've flashed the 11.20, 11.22, 11.25, 11.27 ROMs for CM6 and I've been fine on all these wifi networks.

Are you guys sure it's not residual crap clogging up your phones or perhaps something on the router side?

I've tried all those as well, and they didn't work for me on any router. It may have been caused by /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf being corrupted on something similar. I'm on cronos 1.6.1 now, which also never worked, but since I flashed the SBF again, it's been working fine.

Ok, so this morning I ran into the same issue again with cronos 1.6.1. Deleting /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf fixed the issue for me. Removing and re-adding the network didn't. Still have WifiAdHoc set to 1.
