Cant install TWRP help please

Hi could someone please lend me a hand..

First time trying to root this phone and it has been a nightmare. I am a noob so probably that makes things a lot harder...

I have unlocked the boot loader, I have tried to flash TWRP via ADB but it always boots to stock recovery... I just cant get it to install at all.

I have read in other threads people saying to type fastboot boot twrp.img to make it load and then flash from there, but I get a message FAILED (remote: Command not allowed) in ADB... I have tried to power+ up volume after flashing TWRP without rebooting but it still doesnt load it.

Any suggestions on how I can get this to work... I would really appreciate the help, it is driving me crazy!

Ok managed to get to TWRP like this:
volume + & power at the same time
Keep holding both keys until you see the screen saying system booting, once you see that screen remove your finger and the volume and continue to hold power.
Once you see the TWRP screen come up remove your finger from the power button.

What is the output of ADB when you try to flash TWRP?
