I believe this is correct, and I agree fully on the gb thing. I want to put it on my phone so bad, but something keeps telling me to wait. I even dl'd the ninja rom over the weekend and have the zip sitting there looking at me... tempting me...

Anyway, I have the car dock. When you can use it it's awesome. The only issue I had was on a long trip the battery was only at 70% when I arrived. I think the software lets it charge until it's full, then just stops charging at all. Not sure though, and the phone was VERY hot when I arrived too. The body glove case only kind of fits, the top won't clip down with it on. I bought the moto rugged battery cover from cnn, and it fits fine with the insert removed, but I hate the case. Barely any protection on the screen at all. The sides pull back very easily. Like if you are talking on the phone and have your finger on the lower corner, it just pulls off and you have to put your finger on the menu button to hold the phone. It sucks and I went back to the body glove. I don't use the car dock every day, so when I do I just take the case off.
There is another very detailed thread that discusses all these issues. Over heating will prevent charging. Position your Atrix out of direct sun light and keep it cool using AC and it will charge all of the time.

Thanks for the tip about charging and direct sunlight. It gets awful hot in a car in Florida.

I've heard from several that the CarDock won't recharge the Atrix when using Google Navigation (voice turn-by-turn). I even emailed Motorola about this concern and they claim there are "not many complaints" regarding this issue. So let Moto know and maybe they will fix this problem by including a better charger with more output when using heavy powered apps for longer periods of time...

Mine charges just fine when using Google Nav. Sure it's a bit slower at charging but that would make sense. Oh and something fun to do if you do a bit of track day. Turn your video recorder on and run a few laps. Really fun to watch after tracking or a good road rally!

Has anyone gotten a terrible whine out of their speakers when using the charger and playing video/music/navigation? I have the dock from AT&T paired with a rocketfish charger. I am trying to figure out how to get rid of this awful noise that makes it useless.

Ground loop. Your car powering things through the lighter plug causes a ground loop, it's your car not the car dock. Ground loop isolators can help.

Quick, dumb question, but the micro USB plug on the motorola car dock both charges and has audio out for auxiliary port in car, correct?
