Car Panel

So Tasker has been great for the last few days until recently. Well I should say I "THINK" it is because of Tasker.

Here is the scenario: yesterday I had my phone with me the whole day, plugging into the car dock, taking out of car dock etc. . . and kept checking the top left to see if I had any incoming emails. . . no mail notification. So the day turned into the evening and I started to use my camera on the phone (HTC SENSATION). The application came up and within the application you have the ability to change from photo camera to video camera. I switched to video. I was recording some action when at the 45 second mark the screen dimmed and then went black: the phone went to sleep while I was filming!! I could not get it back on so I had to take the battery out in order to re-start the phone.
I repeated the steps a few times and got the same result: 45 seconds then it goes to sleep.

Getting back to my email: the next day I see that I still have no new emails in the upper left notification area of the phone. So I decide to go to the mail app, click it and see that I have about 7 new emails!!!!!

None of this happened before I installed Tasker.

I went into the email settings and see that it is set to check every 20 minutes. I went into the camera/video app and do not see a menu to change the sleep settings.

I do not think that I changed any other settings on the phone, it may be possible but not very likely.

Any suggestions?
I already uninstalled tasker and the same thing happens.

I did however find out that if I click the camcorder/video app directly(instead of opening up photo and then within the photo app, clicking camcorder/video) the 45 second sleep is no longer happening but still happens when I switch over from photo to video.

Instant email notification is still not happening.

After upgrading to ARHD 4.x with Sense 3.5 I now notice that car panel starts up without any questions asked and I'd like to kill that and get the option to start (Google) Car Home as the default...

BUT there in lies the problem. I happen to like what htc car panel does to the phone dialer when launched. It turns the dialer to a landscape view and I can clearly read my contacts (Think what BSB Tweeks did for the HD2). This I would like to see happen in Car Home but the only way I found to achieve this is to:
1. Let Car Panel launch.
2. Select the Home button - DO NOT EXIT or else it will screw the landscape view in phone dialer.
3. (must have shortcut for Car Home already) launch Car Home from screen.

Now the phone dialer will display in landscape mode any time - as long as car panel is running. Is there another way to achieve this then what I mentioned?
